Which new NCAA rule do you like the best?
  • I like both - both are long overdue (53%, 110 Votes)
  • The red-shirt rule - Allowing players to play in four games without losing eligibility is a game-changer (40%, 83 Votes)
  • The transfer rule - Players shouldn't need permission to transfer to the school of their choice (5%, 10 Votes)
  • Actually, I dislike both changes. They will hurt schools like CU (2%, 4 Votes)

Jon Wilner rates CU's lines worst in Pac-12 South
  • Somewhat agree. The lines were awful last year, but should be much improved this fall (44%, 99 Votes)
  • Completely agree. CU's failure to reach a bowl last season directly traceable to poor line play (37%, 84 Votes)
  • Disagree. UCLA was 115th in rushing offense, and dead last in rushing defense (130th) last season. Just more anti-CU bias (19%, 42 Votes)

The Travon McMillian quote which I find most heartening
  • "I just want to be a leader, set a good example and help Colorado win games" (73%, 147 Votes)

Thoughts on CU's Pac-12 opener against UCLA
  • Too close to call. We'll know much more about these teams after CU plays Nebraska and UCLA plays Oklahoma (53%, 122 Votes)
  • Optimistic. The Buffs should have beaten UCLA on the road last year - when the Bruins had Josh Rosen (35%, 80 Votes)
  • Pessimistic. Chip Kelly will have a bye week to prepare for the Buffs. Kelly v. MacIntyre = CU loss (12%, 28 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
