Which of the following Tad Boyle quotes gives you the most optimism about the next few weeks?
- "It can happen on any night if you let it happen. And we let it happen (at Cal). We let this happen. We’ve got to get better, and I’ve got to do a better job" (49%, 93 Votes)
- “It’s frustrating as hell is what it is. You’d better be ready to play every night you step out, because you can get beat. The last-place team can beat the first-place team" (37%, 71 Votes)
- “We just have to try to win our next game. That’s all we’ve got to worry about. That’s all we’ve got to think about, is getting better" (14%, 27 Votes)

CU has four regular season games left - at the Oregon schools; at home v. the L.A. schools. What would be your prediction for CU's record to close out the regular season?
- 2-2 ... Just like this past weekend, I can see the Buffs following a good game with a bad one, splitting both series (57%, 160 Votes)
- 3-1 ... Not sure if the loss will come on the road at Oregon or at home against USC, but the Buffs will bounce back strongly (20%, 55 Votes)
- 1-3 ... After the debacle against Cal, the only game I can see the Buffs winning will be against Oregon State (and I'm not sure about that one, either) (15%, 42 Votes)
- 0-4 ... The Buffs finished the 2020 season with five straight regular season losses. I fear there will be another swoon again this spring (5%, 13 Votes)
- 4-0 ... In Tad (and McKinley Wright) we trust. You have to believe that this senior-laden team will circle the wagons and play the way they did against Stanford (3%, 10 Votes)

Buffs fall on the road to last place Cal, 71-62. Thoughts?
- This is what is maddening about Tad Boyle-coached teams. They beat Arizona, Oregon, and USC, but fall to bottom-feeders Washington and Cal. It's going to be a rocky road the next few weeks (53%, 118 Votes)
- I don't want to be the one to point it out, but CU finished last season on a five-game skid. Up next: road trips v. Oregon schools, then USC and UCLA. End to 2020 season revisited? I hope not (24%, 54 Votes)
- A frustrating loss, to be sure, but it was also the Buffs fourth game in eight days. Looks like there just wasn't enough left in the tank for another road victory. Forget about it, and move on (23%, 51 Votes)

One year ago, the story broke that Mel Tucker was being courted by Michigan State. How do you grade the state of CU football a year later?
- B ... Glad to be done with Tucker, and I'm cautiously optimistic about the Dorrell era. A good first year, but let's see how the next few years go (51%, 190 Votes)
- A ... Tucker was never destined to stay at CU - and the Buffs responded with a winning record and a bowl bid. Glad to have Karl Dorrell on board and Mel making mistakes in East Lansing (27%, 101 Votes)
- C ... Tucker exposed Colorado as a minor player in college football, and Karl Dorrell was no one's first choice as a replacement. Dorrell did well his first season, but he can't recruit like Tucker (18%, 67 Votes)
- D ... Fans don't remember, but Karl Dorrell wasn't even on CU's short list. Remember names like Sarkisian, Bieneimy, and Calhoun? CU was in a bad state, and had to settle (4%, 12 Votes)

CU has 206 offers out to the Recruiting Class of 2022 (second-most in the Pac-12). Thoughts?
- Like it. Glad to see that Karl Dorrell & Co. have hit the ground running on the next Recruiting Class. I hope the coaches can turn this into a special (read: better ranked) Class (78%, 177 Votes)
- I'm not sure how well the shotgun approach works. Might it be better to have a smaller number of offers out (the 206 number will only grow over the spring) and concentrate on priority recruits? (12%, 27 Votes)
- I guess I'm more interested in schools like ASU (No. 1 in the nation with 357) and UCLA (last among Power Five schools with 44). Definitely different philosophies in recruiting styles in the Pac-12 (10%, 24 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
