Significance of the transfer of running back Patrick Carr
  • Low. The Buffs are deep at running back, and perhaps Carr could see his playing time being minimized with the large group of backs in the depth chart (56%, 138 Votes)
  • High. Carr performed well as a freshman and had the greatest upside on the roster. I'm also concerned about the timing of the announcement (44%, 108 Votes)

Thoughts on CU's latest recruit, defensive back Isaiah Lewis
  • Hopeful. Not much in the way of offers, but he does appear to be a versatile player with speed (56%, 100 Votes)
  • Nothing against Lewis, but the last three or four recruits have been lower profile (like past years), and that has me concerned (33%, 59 Votes)
  • Excited. Another two-way star with good size and athleticism (11%, 21 Votes)

Adam M. has moved from Rivals to Scout
  • I don't subscribe to premium sites. Sorry, but I don't have any idea what you are talking about (70%, 116 Votes)
  • I'll take advantage of the $9.95 for six months offer from Scout, use both for the next few months, and take it from there (14%, 24 Votes)
  • I will follow Adam to Scout and dump my Rivals subscription (13%, 22 Votes)
  • I already subscribe to both sites (3%, 4 Votes)

Thoughts on "two years on, two years off" model proposed by CSU
  • I'm okay with it. Gets CU out of Denver, and adds options for other non-conference scheduling (46%, 106 Votes)
  • No. No. No. End the series. CU should not be giving "little brother" the time of day, much less equal status (31%, 73 Votes)
  • Would rather have: "three years on, three years off" with a 2-for-1 in Boulder (23%, 53 Votes)

Pundits consensus: Washington wins the North; USC or UCLA the South. Concur?
  • No and Yes. Can't see Washington winning the North, but USC or UCLA will win the South (60%, 129 Votes)
  • No and No. Stanford or Oregon in the North; a surprise (CU?) in the South (37%, 79 Votes)
  • Yes and Yes. Huskies win the North; one of the L.A. schools will take the South (3%, 8 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
