What is your interest level in "The Basketball Tournament"?
  • Medium. I will probably track the progress of Team Colorado, and I may watch if they make it back to the title game (48%, 99 Votes)
  • Low. A made up event in mid-summer? Thanks, but no thanks (34%, 71 Votes)
  • High. Team Colorado is stacked. I think they have a good chance at the $2 million prize (18%, 37 Votes)

Jon Wilner rates CU's finances as "sound"
  • Agree. Rick George has CU posting balanced budgets even while paying for the Champions Center (62%, 139 Votes)
  • Sound compared to some other Pac-12 schools, but Buffs not keeping up with Pac-12 powerhouses (34%, 77 Votes)
  • Disagree. CU is celebrating raising $100 million, while Kansas - KANSAS! - has set its sights on raising $300 million (4%, 9 Votes)

All of CU's 2018 recruits are three-star prospects. Thoughts?
  • A little bit of a problem. I'm still hopeful that this staff will pull in four-star recruits come December (54%, 157 Votes)
  • Not a problem. The Buffs won 10 games with three-star recruits last year (36%, 106 Votes)
  • A real problem. If CU can't pull four- and five-star recruits with a new building and ten wins, when will they? (10%, 29 Votes)

Thoughts on CU's third commitment in three days, RB Deion Smith
  • Love it! A Houston recruit with over a dozen Power-Five conference offers? Now we're talking! (73%, 226 Votes)
  • Like it. The fact that he is nationally ranked as an "all-purpose back" gives Smith - and CU - options on how to use him (24%, 75 Votes)
  • Not excited. When exactly is the parade of four-star prospects going to commence? (3%, 10 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
