Athlon: Mike MacIntyre the 5th-best coach in the Pac-12
  • Too low. If you take into account what MacIntyre inherited, he is one of the top three coaches in the conference (53%, 118 Votes)
  • I'm just surprised that Athlon put Clay Helton (USC) at No. 10, and Jim Mora (UCLA) at No. 11 (38%, 85 Votes)
  • Probably a bit too high. Some good coaches in the Pac-12 ... and Mac is still just 20-31 at CU (9%, 18 Votes)

Phil Steele: CU has second-easiest schedule in the Pac-12
  • Doesn't matter. Each season is different. Heading into 2016, CU was an "easy" opponent on everyone's schedule (61%, 145 Votes)
  • Like it. At the end of the season, it's all about the W's - the more the better! (27%, 64 Votes)
  • Don't like it. The rating is due to CU's lame non-conference schedule. Buffs need to pick up better non-conference opponents (12%, 30 Votes)

Thoughts on the Pac-12 media rights distribution numbers
  • Good news. The payout is about three times the money from CU's days in the Big 12 (and 5X CSU money) (51%, 99 Votes)
  • Not pleased. While the money is better, the Pac-12 is getting smoked by other Power-Five conferences (37%, 72 Votes)
  • Great stuff. CU received $28.5 M last year, and that number will just continue to grow (12%, 24 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
