CU returns to the polls (AP: 21st; USA Today/Coaches: 22nd) for the first time since 2016. Thoughts?
- I'm not really concerned about poll numbers, but wins. CU is at four, and I'm looking for six (for starters). First things first - let's get to bowl eligibility, and then we'll talk again (52%, 203 Votes)
- Love it! National recognition for CU is deserved and exciting. Keep it rolling, Buffs! (32%, 124 Votes)
- Like it. I'm sure it will help retain recruits, but every national mention will also mention the records of CU's opponents, discounting the Buffs' accomplishments (16%, 62 Votes)
Start Date: September 30, 2018 @ 6:35 pm
End Date: No Expiry
CU September opponents a collective 1-16 on the season. Thoughts?
- I'll be worried about it at kickoff next Saturday at 2:00 p.m., but, for now, I'm just enjoying CU's first 4-0 start this millennium (42%, 155 Votes)
- Not a concern. You play the team on the schedule, and the Buffs have done just that ... and done it very well (37%, 138 Votes)
- A real concern. The next three opponents are or have been ranked this season. The true tests are yet to come (21%, 76 Votes)
Start Date: September 29, 2018 @ 7:15 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Colorado defeats UCLA in Pac-12 opener, 38-16. Thoughts?
- First time at 4-0 since 1998? I'm going to enjoy this one for a few days ... then start worrying about Arizona State (62%, 250 Votes)
- This team showed talent, moxie, and resolve. Look out, Pac-12, the Buffs are a team to be reckoned with in 2018! (25%, 99 Votes)
- Not to be a buzz kill, but if the Buffs continue to open games they way they did against UCLA, they will be 4-3 before you know it (13%, 54 Votes)
Start Date: September 28, 2018 @ 11:06 pm
End Date: No Expiry
It's time! Your prediction for how CU will fare in its Pac-12 opener against UCLA
- I'm confident that the Buffs will ultimately win the game, but it will likely be (painfully) close for much of the game before the Buffs finish off the Bruins (70%, 245 Votes)
- Buffs are 3-0 and confident; Bruins are 0-3 and struggling. A blackout blowout for the Buffs on Friday night! (20%, 69 Votes)
- The Buffs disappointed after a 3-0 start last year. I'm concerned that the Bruins will be up for this game, and could pull off an upset (10%, 38 Votes)
Start Date: September 27, 2018 @ 6:22 pm
End Date: No Expiry
Which of the following gives you the most pause about the UCLA game?
- That CU has to prepare for two different quarterbacks, and a team which has had a bye week to regain its bearings (48%, 142 Votes)
- That CU under Mike MacIntyre is 1-4 coming off of bye weeks (28%, 83 Votes)
- That CU is 2-5 in Pac-12 openers (including an 0-4 record in home games) (24%, 68 Votes)
Start Date: September 26, 2018 @ 6:39 pm
End Date: No Expiry

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
