CU at the Game Podcast … “T.I.P.S.” for CU v. Texas A&M / Review of CU’s 35-7 win over UNC

It wasn’t always pretty, but CU took care of business against Northern Colorado in the 2021 season opener, defeating the Bears, 35-7. Stuart and Brad take a look at how the Buffs fared, from the missed opportunities on offense, to the strong – if at times undisciplined – effort of the defense, and whether a 28-point win over an FCS team had more positives … or more causes for concern.

Stuart and Brad then turn their attention to Texas A&M, which brings a Top Ten team into Mile High Stadium to face the Buffs. The “T.I.P.S.” for the game will look at the Talent of the Aggies, the Intangibles for the game, Preparation or Scheduling concerns, and the Stats for the game which will be relevant to the outcome.

This is the first Review/Preview of the 2021 season, with similar podcasts to be posted each Tuesday morning during the regular season.

  1. For some reason, the podcast wouldn’t load for me. Must be that sweet satellite internet I get. I just hope our defense can do to A&M’s new QB what Georgia’s did to Clemson’s. That guy looks like a superior athlete (6’4″ 240 and fast w/ a rocket arm) but it looked like he’s still adjusting to the speed of the college game, despite having played a couple games last year when Trevor was out. If they can do that, and not let the same happen to B-lew on the offensive side, this could be another upset the likes of which we have not seen since beating OU in 2007. That would truly be sweet.

    1. The podcast wouldn’t load for you … Where? On the website? At BuzzSprout’s site? At Google Podcasts? Apple Podcasts? Spotify?
      A little help here …

      1. Your site. May have been user error. Always a possibility – yeah, waiting for my pals to jump on that one. But I’m not sure it’s loading correctly at all, the link from your site. My home office is on hughesnet, which ain’t always great.

  2. So, I think A&M may be worse than e dry one expects. I go and look at great teams and how they look during warm up games like both A&M and CU both had. And when I think of those games I don’t think about slow starts with the bigger team just leaning on them. Remember 2016 what CU did to CSU and Idaho state. There was never a question there, there was never a time we were not moving the ball. Look at what Alabama did to Miami, Cincinnati did to Miami of Ohio…. Neither of these teams just played and eventually their bigger faster athletes won through. The dominated front the very beginning. A&M just leaned on Kent and over time their bigger faster athletes broke the lesser opponent down. I suspect by the end of the year A&M is going to be a lower than they are now. That said CU is not in that group either and we will have to see how CU measures up. A&M has the advantage becuase of history but I like the match up of our run game vs their run game d, and I will take Landman against their run game….. that match up may find us a way to victory….

    1. I agree was hoping for more CU domination from the get go. Mostly concerned about the O-line and their inability to push/protect from the very start against UNC. Will be really good if they can establish a run game early this Saturday.
