The Spring Practice number which surprises/worries me the most ...
  • 1 - The number of "skill position" starters CU has returning on offense (51%, 129 Votes)
  • 5 - The number of scholarship defensive linemen CU has available this spring (28%, 72 Votes)
  • 8 - The number of returning seniors left on the roster (21%, 52 Votes)

The "Coaches' Week" videos tell me ...
  • That Balch Fieldhouse is grossly inadequate for workouts for a BCS program. It's time to break ground on the new practice facility! (70%, 187 Votes)
  • That Colorado has some strong, fast, and talented players. I can't wait for spring practices to start! (20%, 55 Votes)
  • That I'm glad that I not a collegiate athlete - the workouts would kill me! (10%, 27 Votes)

My thoughts on CU closing spring practices to the public ...
  • The right move. Embree wants focus and limited distractions (78%, 155 Votes)
  • There should be some open practices, perhaps the ones before spring break (22%, 43 Votes)
  • Practices should be open. Spring is supposed to be all about competition, but coaches don't want fans to know how it's going? (0%, 2 Votes)

If I had a vote for the College Football Hall of Fame, I would prefer
  • Head coach Bill McCartney (68%, 183 Votes)
  • Running back Eric Bieniemy (nominated previous two years, not nominated in 2012) (26%, 69 Votes)
  • Another former Buff - Deon Figures, Chris Hudson, Michael Westbrook, etc. (4%, 10 Votes)
  • Offensive lineman Joe Garten (2%, 8 Votes)

Start Date: February 29, 2012 @ 9:46 am
End Date: No Expiry

My thoughts on the possibility of a four-team playoff starting in 2014 ...
  • Sounds about right. Preserve most (but not all) of the bowls; crown a true champion. (56%, 144 Votes)
  • It's not enough. There should be an eight or sixteen team playoff. (34%, 87 Votes)
  • I'm opposed. College football has never been more popular. Why mess with a good thing? (10%, 26 Votes)

Start Date: February 27, 2012 @ 8:06 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
