What stood out to me the most about Friday's scrimmage
  • That if another speedster (Thomas? Goodson?) can step up to support P-Rich, CU could actually have a passing attack this fall (41%, 107 Votes)
  • That it appears Wood and Hirschman may be separating themselves from Dillon in the QB race (41%, 107 Votes)
  • That there is no way Josh Ford should be third on the RB depth chart. He's too good! (18%, 44 Votes)

Buffs roll up 761 yards of total offense in third spring scrimmage
  • Neither good nor bad. All that matters are the stats on August 31st ... and beyond (62%, 146 Votes)
  • Great! Glad to see the offense get on track - 7.4 yards per play! (24%, 55 Votes)
  • Not so great ... the defense (117th in total defense in 2012; dead last in scoring defense) needs a great deal of work (14%, 33 Votes)

Athlon: Coach Mac-2 the 6th-best coach in the Pac-12
  • About right. A good coach, but let's see where he rates this time next season (72%, 145 Votes)
  • Too high. I'm excited about Coach Mac, but Mac 6th and Oregon's Helfrich 12th? That doesn't sound right. (23%, 47 Votes)
  • Too low. Coach Mac went from 1-12 to 11-2 in two seasons. Who else has done that? (5%, 10 Votes)

Start Date: April 4, 2013 @ 7:37 pm

The biggest disappointment from the "pencil" depth chart ...
  • That there has been no separation in the QB race (74%, 184 Votes)
  • That there ten players out with injuries - and this team can't afford to have anyone miss a single practice (13%, 33 Votes)
  • That neither Jeff nor Gerald Thomas has climbed higher at WR (9%, 22 Votes)
  • That the offensive line is full of holes (4%, 8 Votes)

Start Date: April 3, 2013 @ 6:46 pm
End Date: No Expiry

The most pleasant surprise from the "Pencil" depth chart
  • Grayshirt freshman linebacker Addison Gillam has had an immediate impact (37%, 81 Votes)
  • D.D. Goodson is making strides as a "go to" wide receiver (35%, 76 Votes)
  • Stephane Nembot has entrenched himself at right tackle (21%, 45 Votes)
  • Josh Moten has moved up to the starting safety position (7%, 17 Votes)

Start Date: April 2, 2013 @ 6:52 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
