My interest in CU men's basketball right now is:
  • High. I can't wait for the season to begin - another run to the NCAA's in the making! (59%, 141 Votes)
  • Medium. I'll definitely be following the Buffs, but more so after CU's football season is over (38%, 89 Votes)
  • Low. Ask me again in January, once Pac-12 conference play begins (3%, 7 Votes)

Oregon moves into top four in college football playoff rankings
  • And there they will stay. Ducks a lock to make the final four this year (43%, 78 Votes)
  • And I don't care. CU is my team, and the Buffs are far removed from playoff discussions (36%, 66 Votes)
  • But it won't last. Ducks are likely to lose at least one more game before final rankings are announced (21%, 37 Votes)

What will it take from here on to consider the 2014 season a success?
  • One win in the last three games, avoiding a winless Pac-12 campaign (36%, 91 Votes)
  • Doesn't matter. This season has already been an improvement over prior years (33%, 84 Votes)
  • Doesn't matter. Nothing will help - Losing season No. 9 already guaranteed (21%, 52 Votes)
  • At least two wins, to match last season's win total (10%, 24 Votes)

Colorado opens as a 16-point underdog to No. 21 Arizona
  • Arizona scored only seven points this past weekend, against a UCLA defense which gave up 500 yards to CU. This will be a much closer game than 16 points! (51%, 121 Votes)
  • Buffs have been blown out in every game played in the state of Arizona since joining the Pac-12. I'm afraid of a blowout (49%, 117 Votes)

Colorado falls, 38-23, to Washington
  • I don't know where or when - Buffs just need to find a way to win a game this month, or it's going to be a long off-season (37%, 102 Votes)
  • This was the Buffs' last chance at a win. Welcome to 2-10 and an eight game losing streak heading into the 2015 season (36%, 99 Votes)
  • CU put up 495 yards on a very good defense. Buffs just need to string four quarters together (27%, 77 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
