CU (17-7, 6-5) taking on Washington State (9-14, 1-10) ...
  • Buffs will start slow (again), but pull away in the second half (44%, 106 Votes)
  • Not predicting a loss, but with Josh Scott hobbled, every game makes me nervous (31%, 74 Votes)
  • Easiest pick of the Pac-12 schedule. Buffs in a rout (25%, 60 Votes)

CU ranked No. 59 in the ESPN Football Power Index
  • About right. Until CU starts winning on the field, we should not expect national respect (73%, 191 Votes)
  • All I know is that Wash. State was No. 59 last year ... and finished 9-4. I'd take that! (21%, 55 Votes)
  • Too low. Outsiders not taking into consideration returning starters, new stars and upgrades in coaches (6%, 15 Votes)

OC Darrin Chiaverini: CU playbook may be pared down this fall

  • I like the concept. I agree with Chiaverini - Sometimes, less is more (37%, 99 Votes)

The quarterback(s) I am most interested in this spring
  • R-Fr. Steven Montez. This is his first chance to really show what he can do (65%, 194 Votes)
  • Sr. Davis Webb. I just want to hear that he passed his nine credit hours this spring (33%, 99 Votes)
  • Sr. Jordan Gehrke / So. Cade Apsay. Whether either/both can show they can do better than on-field performances to date have shown (2%, 5 Votes)

Start Date: February 7, 2016 @ 9:50 pm

CU falls to Oregon State, 60-56 ...
  • A tough loss, but if the Buffs can hold serve at home, they'll be fine come tournament time (46%, 67 Votes)
  • This might be the beginning of the end. Buffs can't seem to win close games against decent teams (43%, 63 Votes)
  • Buffs came back - on the road - without Josh Scott. I still believe in these Buffs (11%, 15 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
