Your assessment of the CU offensive line heading into spring ball:
  • Fair. Until proven otherwise, the weakest link of the offense (58%, 135 Votes)
  • Good. If Jeromy Irwin makes it all the way back this fall, there will be real improvement (38%, 87 Votes)
  • Excellent. Six players with starting experience back, with young stars on the way (4%, 9 Votes)

Thoughts on CU not havng a designated special teams coach
  • Not sure ... but the Buffs definitely need to do something different than in past seasons (59%, 167 Votes)
  • A bad idea. If no one is in charge, no one is responsible to ensure a better product on the field (26%, 73 Votes)
  • A good idea. As coach Mac put it - everyone on the staff will be accountable for improvement (15%, 42 Votes)

What I am taking from the 79-72 loss to USC ...
  • Frustration. Buffs once again show they can't play a complete game on the road (58%, 152 Votes)
  • Resignation. USC game probably foreshadowing how the Buffs will fare in the Pac-12 and NCAA tournaments (31%, 82 Votes)
  • Actually, some solace. It was good to get Josh Scott back, and the team can (and will) learn from this defeat (11%, 27 Votes)

How will the Buffs fair in Los Angeles this week?
  • 1-1. USC undefeated at home, but UCLA appears to be vulnerable (41%, 130 Votes)
  • 0-2. CU is not good on the road, and Josh Scott remains a question mark (32%, 103 Votes)
  • 2-0. Buffs figuring it out at the right time. Why not a sweep? (18%, 57 Votes)
  • 1-1 ... but the other way around. Buffs up for upsetting Trojans, but fall against the Bruins (9%, 28 Votes)

Start Date: February 16, 2016 @ 5:41 pm

CU at 19-7, 8-5. Buffs chances at making the tournament:
  • Good. With a tough final five games, however, I'm still nervous (54%, 162 Votes)
  • Excellent. No bad losses; high RPI. Buffs need to just keep doing what they've been doing and they are in (32%, 97 Votes)
  • Fair. Still too many variables. Ask me again after the road trip to LA this weekend (14%, 41 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
