CU a four-point favorite over St. Bonaventure (Tuesday, 9:00 p.m., MT). Thoughts?
  • Sounds about right. Buffs are at home, and have played a tougher schedule. Not saying it will be easy, but I expect a CU victory (47%, 94 Votes)
  • I'm just hoping that, despite the two days notice and the late start, that there will be a decent crowd on hand to help the Buffs post win No. 22 and advance (34%, 68 Votes)
  • I'm a little queasy about this. The Bonnies have an experienced roster playing their final games; CU has a young roster already looking forward to next season (19%, 40 Votes)

CU a No. 4 seed in the National Invitational Tournament, hosting St. Bonaventure on Tuesday. Thoughts?
  • I like it. Buffs get a home game for Evan Battey, and an opponent who will have to travel from New York state. I would like to see Evan Battey go out with a home win! (42%, 79 Votes)
  • I'm just glad that both the men's and women's team are both still alive in the post-season, with the women getting a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament (38%, 71 Votes)
  • St. Bonaventure has a senior laden team, and will be motivated to get back to NY. I hope the Buffs don't take the Bonnies lightly ... and I hope that CU fans don't show up disguised as empty seats (20%, 39 Votes)

Rate your level of excitement for CU's (presumed) invitation to the NIT ...
  • Medium. This is a young team, and any chance to get some extra playing time against decent competition would be welcome as we start looking towards the 2022-23 season (50%, 126 Votes)
  • High. The Buffs are almost assured of a home game. It would be great for Evan Battey to get one (or two) more curtain calls before the home fans (34%, 85 Votes)
  • Low. Like the players, the NIT is looked upon as extra work for little extra reward. I would follow CU's results, but wouldn't be too invested in the outcome (16%, 40 Votes)

Buffs fall to No. 2 Arizona, 82-72, in the Pac-12 semi-finals. Thoughts?
  • It was a tough ask to beat the No. 2 team in the nation twice in two weeks. Disappointed, but no one can say they are surprised. CU is the fourth-best team in the Pac-12, which isn't bad (64%, 130 Votes)
  • At least with the win over Oregon, the Buffs should be a lock to get at least one NIT home game - a much better way for Evan Battey to go out than with the tough game he had against Arizona (25%, 51 Votes)
  • Buffs and their fans are going to look back at this one as one which got away. You can miss that many opportunities against a quality opponent and expect to win. Woulda, coulda shoulda (11%, 21 Votes)

Buffs defeat Oregon, 80-69, to advance to semi-finals matchup against No. 2 in the Pac-12 tournament. Thoughts?
  • I'm just enjoying how the past month has played out. The men's team has won eight of their last nine; the women's team has won six of their last seven. Well done, Buffs! (52%, 152 Votes)
  • A great team win. Knocking the Ducks out of the Pac-12 tournament (and the NCAA tournament) feels good. The Buffs have what it takes to pull off another upset against Arizona - Go Buffs! (38%, 113 Votes)
  • Enjoy it while it lasts. Up next is No. 2 Arizona (Friday, 7:00 p.m., MT, Pac-12 Networks). A real shame that Stanford didn't pull off the upset, because the Wildcats will be ready for revenge (10%, 29 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
