Fox will broadcast the game next weekend between No. 19 CU and No. 5 USC at 10:00 a.m., MT. Thoughts?
  • If it means another nationally televised game for CU, and if the 9:00 a.m., body clock kickoff for the Trojans gives the Buffs an edge, then I'm in. Go Buffs, pick up first-ever win v. USC (64%, 202 Votes)
  • Love it! Last time I checked, CU is 2-0 in 10:00 a.m., MT starts this fall ... and the early start beats the Hell out of having a game finishing at 12:35 a.m. on Sunday morning, like the CSU game (25%, 78 Votes)
  • Hate it! Football should not be played in the morning. There is no time for proper tailgating! I hate how television is completely ruining the game day experience for actual fans (11%, 36 Votes)

No. 19 Colorado opens as a 20.5-point underdog to No. 10 Oregon (Saturday, 1:30 p.m., MT, ABC). Thoughts?
  • Anyone who has watched CU struggle along both lines will understand this line. The Buffs won't be able to stop the Oregon offense ... I'm actually surprised the line isn't higher (51%, 162 Votes)
  • I'm not going to worry about Oregon just yet. I'm still reveling in watching my Buffs beat its two main rivals before sold out Folsom Field crowds ... I'll worry about Oregon in a few days (32%, 100 Votes)
  • You're kidding, right? Wasn't the line for CU at No. 17 TCU 20.5-points? Seems like a cruel joke ... and I'm sure the Buffs will use this number to their advantage (17%, 54 Votes)

No. 18 Colorado 43, Colorado State 35 - 2OT. Thoughts?
  • An amazing victory! A 98-yard drive in the final two minutes (and a two-point conversion!) just to tie the game. A huge win over an opponent that did all they could to try and upset the Buffs (36%, 128 Votes)
  • Enjoy the next few hours and days, Buff Nation, as the negative press is about to descend upon the program. The Buffs were out-played by a three-TD underdog, and may be schooled by Oregon and USC (33%, 117 Votes)
  • I don't care about Oregon and USC (just yet). I am going to enjoy what will become one of those "where were you when?" Buff victories. Oh, and "It sucks ... to be ... a CSU Ram!" (31%, 114 Votes)

It's time! Your prediction for No. 18 Colorado v. Colorado State (8:00 p.m., MT, ESPN)
  • As Prime put it ... Before it was just going to be a good game, but now it's personal. Buffs cover the 24-point spread by halftime and coast to a huge win (44%, 117 Votes)
  • I'm just interested to watch the 12-hour informercial ESPN will have for Coach Prime and the University of Colorado. For the first time in forever, CU is a heavy favorite - it'll be a weird day (32%, 85 Votes)
  • As much as the Buff players have said they are not looking past CSU ... they could be forgiven for looking past CSU. A victory, but it could be uncomfortable for more time than we would expect (24%, 64 Votes)

Start Date: September 15, 2023 @ 4:10 pm

CSU head coach Jay Norvell: "I told ESPN, when I talk to grownups, I take my hat and glasses off". Thoughts?
  • Coach Prime: "It was just going to be a good game, but now it's personal". I hope this means that the Buffs will not hold back, and make this a rout for all to see and remember (52%, 160 Votes)
  • This had to be orchestrated. Novell had spent the week saying all the right things about Prime, and then this? Perhaps he's trying to motivate his own team? We'll see ... (26%, 79 Votes)
  • As Coach Prime said: "Why would you talk about us, when we all we do is come out here and work our butts off?". Thanks, Coach Norvell, for the bulletin board material! (22%, 67 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
