Thoughts on the commitment of 2018 quarterback Blake Stenstrom
  • Good news. It's still 14 months to his Signing Day, and he could still defect if his father's school (Stanford) offers (45%, 159 Votes)
  • Excellent news! A quality recruit at a key position. Glad to get him locked in early! (33%, 117 Votes)
  • Not news. You realize he's just a junior, and was a backup this season? (22%, 80 Votes)

What to make of CU's 8-3 start:
  • Ugly. The Buffs' play has been "atrocious". Pac-12 openers v. Utah, Arizona schools and L.A. schools could lead to a 1-4 start (56%, 176 Votes)
  • An NIT season, but we do have the women's team, which is 10-0 and nationally ranked (24%, 77 Votes)
  • Not concerned. It's still non-conference play, and the Buffs still have time to figure things out. In Tad we trust! (20%, 63 Votes)

Thoughts on CU's next defensive coordinator
  • I'm not sure yet. I'll wait for some candidates to emerge before picking a favorite (56%, 162 Votes)
  • Tumpkin. Tumpkin. Tumpkin. He's been a defensive coordinator, provides continuity, and can recruit (30%, 87 Votes)
  • The Buffs can afford to be choosy, and can wait to see if any fired NFL assistants might be interested (14%, 41 Votes)

Start Date: December 16, 2016 @ 8:48 pm
End Date: No Expiry

What do you make of CU's three junior college signees?
  • Good. I do like getting a 330-pound run-stuffing nose tackle and a speedy defensive back who can play right away (45%, 187 Votes)
  • Outstanding. Three three-star prospects in areas of need on the defense! (43%, 179 Votes)
  • Fine. Sorry - I'm still fixated on the loss of defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt. Ask me again in a few days (12%, 49 Votes)

Start Date: December 15, 2016 @ 7:26 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Thoughts on Jim Leavitt leaving Colorado for Oregon
  • Hate it, hate it, hate it. CU once again showing it is a "have not" in the world of college football (42%, 231 Votes)
  • I'd be fine with it if it were Mississippi - why did it have to be f*&%$# Oregon?? (35%, 193 Votes)
  • I'm okay with it. Coaches are entitled to make their money, and CU will have numerous quality candidates for a replacement (23%, 124 Votes)

Start Date: December 14, 2016 @ 4:04 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
