Washington State audit finds mismanagement ... and a $67M budget deficit
  • Just goes to show how well Rick George & Co. have done in handling CU's expansion (46%, 91 Votes)
  • Interesting that Nebraska hired away the AD who created all of the problems (44%, 87 Votes)
  • And yet Washington State continues to field winning football teams ... must be nice (10%, 22 Votes)

Jon Wilner rates CU quarterbacks 9th in the Pac-12
  • Unfortunately, the ranking is about right. Montez has a great deal to prove this season (58%, 98 Votes)
  • Way too low. Montez has more experience than most of the QB's in conference (36%, 61 Votes)
  • Actually, it may even be too high. The sooner CU's coaches realize the backups are more talented, the better (6%, 10 Votes)

Pac-12 revenues top $500 million for the first time
  • Would like it to be better ... but when you remember CU's Big 12 distributions of $8-$10 million/year ... it's a nice paycheck (71%, 86 Votes)
  • Lousy news. Distributions of $30.9 per school is still well behind other Power-Five conference distributions (17%, 20 Votes)
  • Great news! Revenues up over 53% in five years? Hard to be disappointed with those numbers (12%, 15 Votes)

CU picks up a commitment from three-star cornerback K.J. Trujillo. Thoughts?
  • Love it! A quality recruit from a big-time program in California. (47%, 98 Votes)
  • Like it. Several Pac-12 offers, and Trujillo has good size and speed (36%, 74 Votes)
  • Nice, but CU doesn't play in a 7-on-7 league. Where are the quality linemen recruits? (17%, 35 Votes)

Four Pac-12 teams earn post-spring Top 25 rankings. Thoughts?
  • "Way-too-early" rankings are just that (though they likely reflect what we'll see in August) (56%, 90 Votes)
  • Only USC ranked from the South division. Great opportunity for CU to make a run to an upper division finish (37%, 60 Votes)
  • It looks like - once again - it will be tough for a Pac-12 team to get into the playoffs (7%, 11 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
