Colorado 45, No. 17 TCU 42. Thoughts?
  • In-credible!!! A huge win!!! A win as a three-touchdown underdog against a ranked tam on the road? No words ... Enjoy this, Buff Nation! (64%, 301 Votes)
  • First win over a ranked team on the road since 2019 (No. 24 Arizona State), and the first win over a top 20 team on the road since 2002. This is going to be the most fun we've had in decades! (25%, 118 Votes)
  • It was a huge win for the program, but the defense did give up 541 yards and 42 points. Many shootouts to come ... I hope the Buffs can put together offensive performances like this every week (11%, 51 Votes)

It's (finally) time! Your prediction for CU at No. 17 TCU (Saturday, 10:00 a.m., MT, Fox)
  • There is no argument that CU's roster is much improved, but this is a road game against a nationally ranked opponent. Buffs beat 20.5-point spread, but still come home with an "L" (51%, 119 Votes)
  • The Buffs are continue to do what they have been doing for the past nine months under Coach Prime: Shock the college football world. Buffs are going to win this game! (42%, 98 Votes)
  • You don't completely gut a roster and completely overhaul the coaching staff and not need time to put things together. I hate having TCU as an opening opponent ... TCU covers (7%, 16 Votes)

What stood out to you about the list of former CU scholarship players, and where they are playing this fall?
  • I would just hope that someone will put these lists in front of the Coach Prime critics (and perhaps ask Narduzzi and Rhule why none of these underappreciated castoffs aren't on their rosters) (46%, 84 Votes)
  • That the list of over 50 former Buffs had only about a dozen players who landed at Power Five conference schools. Not a real surprise that CU went 1-11 last year (31%, 57 Votes)
  • That only about a half dozen players - at best - will be starting for Power Five schools, and that CU's quarterbacks of 2022 are not expected to take college football by storm this fall (23%, 42 Votes)

What do you make of the report that 87% of the bets at MGM have been on CU to cover the over for 3.5 wins?
  • Makes perfect sense. While national pundits are loath to give credit to Coach Prime and his coaches, bettors see CU as a brand new team with great potential (44%, 104 Votes)
  • Interesting that CU is leading in bets on winning the Pac-12 (even at 100:1 odds). I think what it really shows is that no one - not Vegas, not the experts - know what to make of CU under Coach Prime (42%, 100 Votes)
  • I still wouldn't touch this bet. Vegas knows what it's doing, and how to get money to come in. It tells me that the sharps don't see CU as a team which is going bowling in 2023 (14%, 33 Votes)

Which of the following Game Week press conference quotes by Coach Prime do you like the best?
  • Asked about coaching his first game on the Power 5 stage, "It's not about me. I played in the Super Bowl and the World Series. I’m good. I’m good. I’m straight. This is about the kids, man" (39%, 92 Votes)
  • "These kids are ready. Practice-wise, these guys have been getting after it and I'm proud of them. They've been working their butts off and they've kind of challenged one another" (36%, 85 Votes)
  • After asking players to write down their game goals: "OK, now go out there and practice and do it. Don't wait until Saturday to do it. Do it now. So I'm happy with our young men. I really am" (25%, 56 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
