CU picks up a commitment from QB Steven Montez
  • Great pickup! He's 6'5", and had a 27/3 touchdown-to-interception ratio as a junior. What's not to like? (60%, 102 Votes)
  • Not impressed. Another two-star recruit with tremendous upside ... we've heard that before (36%, 61 Votes)
  • Sorry, but I'm just not that interested in recruiting right now ... Wake me when CU starts winning some games (4%, 6 Votes)

Folsom Field's place in the Pac-12 ...
  • Certainly in the top three or four. Husky stadium is beautiful; Rose Bowl has history ... but that's about it for stadia with more to offer than Folsom (57%, 108 Votes)
  • At No. 1, of course! Ralphie, the Flatirions ... ain't nothin' better! (32%, 62 Votes)
  • Only in the top half right now. Tough to brag when CU can't draw more than 40,000 per game (11%, 21 Votes)

My current projection for Colorado's Pac-12 record in 2014 ...
  • 3-6 ... Cal, Utah, and Oregon State (home) or Arizona (road) (51%, 113 Votes)
  • 2-7 ... I can see wins at Cal and at home against Utah, but nothing more (30%, 66 Votes)
  • 4-5 or better ... Mac named Pac-12 Coach of the Year (16%, 35 Votes)
  • 1-8 ... Four conference wins in three years ... You do the math (3%, 9 Votes)

Start Date: June 18, 2014 @ 7:49 pm

My prediction for CU's record in September ...
  • 4-1 ... Wins over CSU, UMass, Hawai'i and Cal ... loss to ASU (61%, 145 Votes)
  • 3-2 ... 3-0 in non-conference ... 0-2 in Pac-12 play (20%, 48 Votes)
  • 5-0 ... Why not? Buffs undefeated until proven otherwise. (12%, 29 Votes)
  • 2-3 or worse ... The glass is half empty until proven otherwise (7%, 14 Votes)

Start Date: June 17, 2014 @ 9:12 pm

Nine days out from the NBA Draft, my projection for Spencer Dinwiddie ...
  • He'll go early second round, but he'll still make an NBA roster. (49%, 94 Votes)
  • He'll go in the first round and receive that guaranteed money. Congratulations, Mayor! (34%, 65 Votes)
  • He'll go later in the second round ... and wish he had stayed in Boulder for his senior season (17%, 32 Votes)

Start Date: June 16, 2014 @ 7:25 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
