CU receives a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Erick Conley from Houston. Thoughts?
- Like it. At 6'4", 250-pounds as a junior, Conley really looks the part. Oh, and he has a 4.45 GPA and wants to be a neuroscientist. Got to like a cerebral defensive lineman! (40%, 89 Votes)
- So, seven of the 11 commitments CU has from the Class of 2022 are from Texas? Sure sounds like a trend to me. If it plays out well, this could be the start of a great new pipeline for the program (33%, 72 Votes)
- So, he's from Texas, and yet was not rated by 247 Sports at the time of his commitment? I trust this coaching staff to find diamonds in the rough, but too much of this Class is suspect (27%, 60 Votes)

The most surprising/interesting factoid to learn about CU and the Olympic games to me was ...
- That CU has had 90 Olympians in its history, and that total actually ranks 10th among universities and colleges in the United States. Well done, Olympic Buffs! (66%, 111 Votes)
- That no college or university in the country has had more alpine skiers in the Olympics (29) or cyclists (13) than has CU ... cool stats to pass along to my friends and family (21%, 35 Votes)
- That Buffs have won a total of 20 medals at the Olympic games, including nine gold medals (together with four silver and seven bronze). Impressive stuff! (13%, 21 Votes)

Seven Buffs listed on preseason All-Pac-12 teams, with RB Jarek Broussard and LB Nate Landman first-teamers. Thoughts?
- Congratulations on the honorees, but, all things being equal, I'd rather see a bunch of Buffs listed on post-season All-Pac-12 teams. Time to step up, Buffs, and make names for yourselves! (65%, 133 Votes)
- Like it. It's especially good to see Broussard and Landman receive national acknowledgement of their status (32%, 65 Votes)
- Hmmm ... No offensive linemen, and only one third team defensive back. I guess we know what areas the pundits see as being the weakest units on the CU roster (3%, 8 Votes)

Stop me if you've heard this one before - Is THIS the year of the tight end for CU's offense?
- Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me ... a dozen times, shame on me. I'll believe in the CU tight ends room when they actually produce (42%, 76 Votes)
- Chiaverini understatement: "I think the tight end position has to continue to get better". Chiv accurate quote: “The tight end room is getting there" (30%, 54 Votes)
- Believe it. Brady Russell led the team in receptions and yards in the opener against UCLA. If he hadn't gotten hurt, this would be Year Two of the tight end renaissance in Boulder (28%, 50 Votes)

CBS has Karl Dorrell as the No. 9 coach in the Pac-12, the No. 54 coach in the nation. Thoughts?
- Too low. A certain coach at UCLA is 10-21 after three years in Westwood, and is ranked three spots above Dorrell. It's not about results, it's about perception. I'm about over the preseason ... (54%, 91 Votes)
- Sad to say, but it's probably pretty accurate. The 4-2 record was impressive under the circumstances, but Dorrell still has plenty to prove. (26%, 43 Votes)
- I guess it's good that Dorrell moved up three spots. I don't know about the No. 54 national ranking, though - Dorrell is certainly higher than that in the national pecking order (20%, 33 Votes)

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.
SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.
The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!
‘SkoBuffs!! Drub the Nubs.
Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.
Did Coach Hagan just let the cat out of the bag regarding Colorado’s starting QB?
Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
