When other Pac-12 teams are playing in the tournaments ...
  • I cheer for the conference teams. Wins help the league as a whole (71%, 151 Votes)
  • I let my bracket choices determine my rooting interest, not conference affiliation (21%, 44 Votes)
  • Sorry, a rivalry is a rivalry. I can't cheer for teams like Oregon and UCLA under any circumstances (8%, 19 Votes)

My prediction for this weekend's games ...
  • Women advance; men win first game but lose second (58%, 136 Votes)
  • Both CU men and women advance to Sweet Sixteen! (24%, 56 Votes)
  • Both win first, but fall in second (12%, 28 Votes)
  • One and done for both. A tough opening draw for both squads. (5%, 12 Votes)
  • Men advance, women win first game but lose second (1%, 2 Votes)

CU women earn a No. 5 seed, will play Kansas Saturday
  • I'm just glad the games are in Boulder. Home court will be a huge advantage over any opponent (62%, 93 Votes)
  • Good seeding for Buffs. I like it that No. 4 seed South Carolina isn't likely to travel well (31%, 46 Votes)
  • A bad draw. Kansas has CU's number (five straight wins before Buffs left the Big 12), and will bring fans to Boulder (7%, 11 Votes)

My thoughts on the Buffs getting a No. 10 seed ...
  • Great news! CU seeded higher than Oregon and Cal, and got a good draw (49%, 161 Votes)
  • I don't care. The Buffs are dancing, and that's all that matters! (48%, 157 Votes)
  • Bad news! Buffs should have been an 8 or 9 seed, and Illinois has wins over Gonzaga and Indiana (3%, 12 Votes)

Start Date: March 17, 2013 @ 4:46 pm
End Date: No Expiry

My prediction for CU men's seed
  • No. 10 seed. Better to play a No. 2 seed in Round 2 than a No. 1 (46%, 142 Votes)
  • No. 9 seed. Current slot by ESPN & CBS - sounds about right (39%, 118 Votes)
  • 11 or 12 seed. Okay ... as long as it's not a play-in game. (9%, 29 Votes)
  • None of the above ... NIT home game. (3%, 9 Votes)
  • No. 8 seed or better ... dare to dream! (3%, 8 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
