Level of excitement for the CU Recruiting Class of 2018
  • High. It looks like a solid Class, with some future stars joining the Black and Gold (52%, 207 Votes)
  • Medium. I'm always interested in how 20-25% of CU's roster is shaping up, but it's hard to adjust to the new Signing Day (39%, 153 Votes)
  • Low. No big names; not much drama ... and it's Christmas time. Hard to get pumped about this Signing Day (9%, 36 Votes)

The "Don't Forget About Me" player which will have the greatest impact:

  • Wide receiver Tony Jones - The former Texas Tech wideout brings experience to the lineup (19%, 50 Votes)

The CU Christmas present you would most like to open:
  • A commitment from a surprise four-star recruit or two ... why not have a great Signing Day? (61%, 201 Votes)
  • A commitment from any 2-3 new defensive linemen ... we need warm bodies (20%, 65 Votes)
  • A commitment from JC defensive tackle Mustafa Johnson (12%, 38 Votes)
  • News about a new star quarterbacks coach ... and, why not, a special teams coach (7%, 23 Votes)

Oregon and CSU fall to Boise State and Marshall in bowl games
  • Not news. The 2017 season is long over for CU, so how other teams finish the season is irrelevant (39%, 87 Votes)
  • Excellent news. Nice to see Oregon fall with their new coach, and CSU put in its place (35%, 78 Votes)
  • All that I'm interested in now ... where does Jim Leavitt end up now that Oregon's season is done? (26%, 57 Votes)

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
