CU receives a commitment from three-star defensive end Tava Finau
  • Like it. Another three-star prospect, with a dozen other offers. Seems like a good pickup (52%, 197 Votes)
  • Love it! A good looking prospect, and in a position of need. Welcome, Tava! (37%, 140 Votes)
  • Not sure. I would have preferred to get a commitment from a prospect with more than one other Pac-12 offer (11%, 39 Votes)

CU is 3-0 after non-conference play. The Buffs' Pac-12 record:
  • 5-4 or 6-3. CU still a very good team, just not as good as last year (62%, 200 Votes)
  • 3-6 to 4-5. Buffs haven't shown they can get past anything better than the worst teams in the Pac-12 (21%, 66 Votes)
  • 7-2 or 8-1. Until proven otherwise, Buffs are defending Pac-12 South champions (16%, 50 Votes)
  • 1-8 to 2-7. I'm worried about this team (1%, 5 Votes)

Start Date: September 20, 2017 @ 7:46 pm

CU's next two games are at 8:00 and 8:30 p.m., MT. Thoughts?
  • Nationally televised games are better for the program than Pac-12 Network games, even if they start late (55%, 190 Votes)
  • Hate them. Fans get home well after midnight, cold and tired. (25%, 86 Votes)
  • Love night games, especially at Folsom. It gives the Buffs a real advantage (20%, 68 Votes)

Start Date: September 19, 2017 @ 6:06 pm
End Date: No Expiry

Colorado listed as a ten-point underdog to No. 7 Washington. Thoughts?
  • To be honest, I'm surprised it's this low. Buffs have yet to prove they can play a complete game. Against an elite team, that spells r-o-u-t. (49%, 176 Votes)
  • Probably about right. Buff fans should be prepared for a two-score loss (31%, 110 Votes)
  • A good line for CU fans. I'm not guaranteeing a Buff win, but CU will cover (20%, 70 Votes)

Start Date: September 18, 2017 @ 5:14 pm
End Date: No Expiry

CU ranked just outside of both AP and USA Today polls (again)
  • Doesn't matter. If CU beats Washington, the Buffs will be in the polls next week (46%, 187 Votes)
  • I understand the slow move up in the rankings ... the Buffs haven't been impressive yet (42%, 172 Votes)
  • You know this wouldn't happen to other "well-established" schools. Another slight to the program - I hope the Buffs use this as motivation (12%, 49 Votes)

Start Date: September 17, 2017 @ 5:32 pm
End Date: No Expiry

  1. Stuart:

I like the question about SS’s negative coverage. Personally, I think the see-saw coverage is mostly about “stirring the pot” and/or getting clicks. SS is this year’s draft soap opera–a love/hate fest For one negative story there is a more positive one. Some stories are just hit jobs (anonymous NFL assistant/exec), others just cover every minutia of his life. Yesterday, Kiper has him still going early.

SS is an intriguing draftee warranting discussion, however the extensive overall coverage on every detail for one QB prospect seems over the top. NFL teams have their draft boards, needs, and evaluations and they make decisions based upon that. I’ll be glad when SS and TH are picked today and the focus will be on our team.

  2. The Buffs need to wear the silver and gold that are the official school colors. Black jerseys are OK as the’ve been around for a long time, but out with the black helmets–and the white ones too. Gold helmets with silver pants, alternating with silver helmets and gold pants would be good. Nix on all black and all white!!

  3. Stuart, your polls are so thoughtful and on point. Appreciate you doing this and sharing it with your CUAtTheGame community.

  4. Wouldn’t mind the Cheez-It Bowl at all, as I have connections at Kellogg’s (owns Cheez-it) who could get me tickets!! Is that Cheezy??? 🙂
