January 31st Former Nebraska quarterback named offensive coordinator at Oregon Can’t get rid of this guy … From ESPN … Oregon has promoted former Nebraska quarterback Scott Frost to offensive coordinator under new coach Mark Helfrich. The move announced Thursday had been expected since Helfrich, the team’s former offensive coordinator, was made the Ducks’ head coach on Jan. 20. April 30th Colorado held its own in 2011 NFL draft The Colorado Buffaloes more than held their own in comparison to the rest of the new Pac-12 this weekend. Only one new rival, USC, had more players selected in the first four rounds (four) than did Colorado (three). Cal and Stanford did catch the Buffs with their third picks in the fourth round, but the fact remains that, well through the midway point of the 2011 draft, Colorado was second alone in its new league in number of players drafted. …

April 30th Jalil Brown and Scotty McKnight lightly considered in 2006 While Nate Solder and Jimmy Smith were not highly regarded as high school prospects in 2006 (see story, below), they were all-stars compared to the other two Colorado players, Jalil Brown and Scotty McKnight, who were 2011 draft picks. Jalil Brown was a two-star athlete out of Phoenix, Arizona. Brown, however, went unsigned during Signing Day, 2006. February 28th Sipili to enter a plea on April 15th Former Colorado linebacker Michael Sipili can be tried for sexual assault, according to a Boulder County Judge. Sipili, who was arrested in January on suspicion of sexual assault, will enter a plea on April 15th. The hearing on Monday was a preliminary hearing, and the state only needed to show that there was enough evidence to take the matter to trial.
