April 30th Colorado held its own in 2011 NFL draft The Colorado Buffaloes more than held their own in comparison to the rest of the new Pac-12 this weekend. Only one new rival, USC, had more players selected in the first four rounds (four) than did Colorado (three). Cal and Stanford did catch the Buffs with their third picks in the fourth round, but the fact remains that, well through the midway point of the 2011 draft, Colorado was second alone in its new league in number of players drafted. …

February 28th Sipili to enter a plea on April 15th Former Colorado linebacker Michael Sipili can be tried for sexual assault, according to a Boulder County Judge. Sipili, who was arrested in January on suspicion of sexual assault, will enter a plea on April 15th. The hearing on Monday was a preliminary hearing, and the state only needed to show that there was enough evidence to take the matter to trial. Colorado drove 71 yards on its first drive of the game against Kansas State, taking a 6-3 first quarter lead. The remainder of the game, however, the Buffs’ offense generated only 173 yards, turning the ball over four times in falling to the Wildcats, 20-6. The Buffs wasted an outstanding effort from their defense on the afternoon, as the Kansas State offense was held in check for most of the game. Mistakes and penalties, however, continued to plague the Buffs, with Colorado falling to 2-5 on the 2009 season.

Playing before 50,454 sweltering CU faithful, Washington overcame four turnovers to turn back winless Colorado.
