Amontrae Bradford – Edge

Decommitted December 20th … Signed with Georgia Tech …

Committed October 9th … Bradford is a 6’4″, 230-pound edge rusher from Statesboro, Georgia … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others say about Bradford … Bradford is rated as a three-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Bradford is listed as the No. 96 overall prospect out of the state of Georgia. At 247 Sports, Bradford is considered to be the No. 42 edge rusher in the nation, the No. 66 overall prospect out of Georgia, and the No. 602 overall prospect in the nation.

Bradford had other offers from … over two dozen schools, including a number of Power Five conference schools. Bradford’s offer sheet included scholarship opportunities to attend Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota and Virginia Tech.

In his own words … “I plan on being the first edge they put in the first round in awhile,” Bradford told 247Sports. “The first edge Deion puts in the league. First edge they put in the league as a whole, that’s what I see myself doing.”

“Me and the coaches have a good connection,” Bradford said. “Me and Coach Williams and Deion and a few other coaches they’ve been recruiting me. Just the type of character they have, they are like a father figure I don’t really have.”

Issiah Walker – OL – (JC)

De-committed December 18th … It is being reported that Walker did not obtain enough credits in junior college to transfer to Colorado. Walker is reporting on social media that he is committing to Texas State …

Just the facts … Committed October 30th … Walker is a 6’4″, 309-pound offensive lineman from Miami, Florida, who comes to Colorado by way of Butler Community College in Kansas … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others say about Walker … Walker is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals, but was unrated by 247 Sports at the time of his commitment. As a high school recruit out of Miami (Fla.) Norland, Walker signed with Florida as part of the 2020 class, tabbed by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 13 offensive tackle and No. 169 prospect overall.

Walker plans to enroll in December, and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Walker had other offers from … Houston, Memphis, Texas State, Georgia Southern and Syracuse. Colorado extended a scholarship back in May.

In his own words … “For me the biggest thing I look at in a school is the family atmosphere that’s being established and Colorado has it,” Walker told 247Sports. “When Coach Prime first got there that’s what he instilled there. I also feel as if I would grow there under the o-line coach (Bill O’Boyle) which he actually coached my o-line coach here at JUCO and they both are just alike in there same styles of coaching.”

Dre’lon Miller – WR

Just the facts … Committed December 10th … Miller is 6’2″, 190-pound wide receiver from Silsbee, Texas … Rivals bio247 Sports

What others have to say about Miller … Miller is rated as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Miller is listed as the No. 11 wide receiver in the nation, the No. 9 overall prospect out of the state of Texas, and the No. 38 overall prospect in the nation. At 247 Sports, Miller is listed as the No. 13 wide receiver, the No. 11 player out of Texas, and the No. 66 overall prospect in the entire country.

From Gabe Brooks at 247 Sports … Devastating offensive weapon who makes plays for his high school team at receiver, running back, and Wildcat QB, accompanied by ample defensive snaps and return game experience. Wins with physical tools, instincts, tenacity, and football IQ.

One of the most dynamic run-after-catch playmakers in the country. Produced astronomical receiving numbers and limited-but-strong rushing totals in sophomore and junior campaigns.

Contested-throw bully. Plays much larger than on-paper size. Very strong hands and a stout-trunked build knock defenders out of his orbit. Not afraid to work the middle of the field and will torture smaller defenders there with physicality and relentlessness.

Violent runner with running back’s gait. Open-field galloper with adequate to above average top-end field speed. Realistically could move to a full-time running back role and likely maintain similar standing as a prospect.

Miller had other offers from … over two dozen Power Five conference schools, including Georgia, Washington, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, USC and Texas. Miller had been a Texas A&M commit since June, but decommitted in October.

Aaron Butler – WR/Ath

De-committed December 9th“Long story short, it wasn’t the right fit for me. I wish them the best of luck on what they are building and have no doubts they will be successful. I have much love to the BuffNation and the staff. They have been nothing but supportive even before my commitment, and to this day. Please respect my decision.”

Just the facts … Committed May 16th … Butler is a 6’0″, 170-pound athlete from Calabasas, California … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others have to say about Butler … Butler is rated as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Butler is rated as the No. 13 “athlete” in the nation, the No. 15 overall prospect out of the state of California, and the No. 173 overall player in the nation. At 247 Sports, Butler is considered to be the No. 5 athlete in the nation, the No. 9 overall prospect out of California, and the No. 65 overall player in the country.

Right now, Butler’s .9531 Composite rating ranks 13th among commitments in modern CU recruiting, dating back to 2000.

A versatile athlete, Butler wants to play primarily at receiver at the next level. He averaged 21.9 yards per catch as a junior at Calabasas, and has also showcased impressive speed, clocking in at 21.8-seconds in the 200-meter dash and 7.05-seconds in the 60.

Scouting report from Greg Biggins at 247 SportsButler is a dangerous two-way player who could end up at corner or receiver in college. When he initially committed to USC, the thought was he was going in to play corner. He definitely has a corner skill set and plays with a defensive mentality. He’s physical player and has a lot of nastiness in his game. Whether he’s blocking or jamming a receiver, he’s looking to physically dominate his opponent and will often stay on his block until he puts him in the ground or off the field. He has both short area quickness and long speed and it will be interesting to see what kind of times Butler can put up on the track this spring. As a receiver, he has really impressed and is a threat to score every time he touches the football. He plays with a bit of a chip on his shoulder and has an edge in his game that reminds us a little of former LB Poly and current NE Patriot DB Jack Jones. He needs to keep his emotions in check but his upside is extremely high.

Butler had other offers from … at least two dozen Power Five conference schools. Pick your favorite blueblood program, and they were after Butler. A USC commit for several weeks in January, Butler also had offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M LSU and Tennessee from the SEC; Michigan, Penn State and Michigan State (not to mention Notre Dame); plus offers from most of the Pac-12, including Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

In his own words … “Colorado was home,” Butler told 247 Sports. “There were a lot of reasons why I committed there. I had two great visits and really believe in the direction the program is going under Deion (Sanders).

“My last visit was for the Spring Game and you can just tell big things are coming. I see a lot of opportunity to step in play right away and I love the talent that’s coming in. I know a lot of people were stressing about the players leaving but trust me, there are some dogs coming in.”

Jordan Seaton – OL

Just the facts … Committed December 7th … Seaton is a 6’5″, 287-pound offensive tackle from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others say about Seaton … Seaton is rated as a five-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Seaton is listed as the No. 1 offensive tackle in nation, the No. 8 prospect out of the talent-rich state of Florida, and the No. 13 overall prospect in the entire country. At 247 Sports, Seaton is listed as the No. 1 offensive tackle, the No. 5 player out of Florida, and the No. 30 overall prospect in the country.

247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins breaks down what Colorado is getting in Seaton:  “One of the few offensive line prospects in the 2024 cycle that has a chance to be a left tackle at the game’s highest levels. Completely reworked his body from the time he first emerged on the recruiting scene as a freshman up in the D.C. area, shedding a ton of bad weight while adding plenty of functional strength in the upper half. Updated measurements weren’t available in advance of senior season, but was believed to be hovering somewhere around 6-foot-5, 290 pounds with a 6-foot-10 wingspan to boost. Quick-footed and exceptionally agile for someone of his stature.”

Seaton had other offers from … pretty much every Power Five conference team in the nation. Just to give you an idea, Seaton took official visits to Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee. Seaton also took unofficial visits to Georgia, Florida State, Miami, North Carolina and Oklahoma … you kind of get the idea that Seaton could have gone anywhere he wanted to go.

In his own words … “My favorite thing about that program is probably the head coach,” Seaton has told 247Sports in the past. “He’s a gold jacket. He knows what it looks like. As you can see with Shedeur (Sanders) he knows how to get you to the league.”

“What excites me about Boulder is the potential that the school and the team has!” Seaton has also said before. “To compete for the college football playoff soon.”

Seaton really enjoyed the environment Sanders created regarding both visits. “They play with a chip on their shoulder,” Seaton said. “They know everyone is watching so when they strap up their helmets all week and on game day especially they have to come with their A game.”

Danny O’Neil – QB

De-committed November 27th … O’Neil was reportedly very close to offensive coordinator Sean Lewis, so the taking away of play-calling duties from Lewis may have played a factor … or … There may be some coaching staff announcements coming which will affect CU’s offense going forward …

Just the facts … Committed March 21st … O’Neil is a 6’1″, 183-pound quarterback from Indianapolis, Indiana (Cathedral) … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others have to say about O’Neil … O’Neil is rated as a three-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, O’Neil is rated as the No. 32 prostyle quarterback in the nation, and the No. 6 overall prospect out of the state of Indiana. At 247 Sports, O’Neil is listed as the No. 29 quarterback in the nation, the No. 5 overall prospect out of Indiana, and the No. 561 player overall in the country.

According to MaxPreps.com, O’Neil threw for 2,654 yards, 32 touchdowns and only seven interceptions as a junior last season. He also ran for 293 yards and nine touchdowns. As a sophomore, he threw for 2,956 yards, 33 touchdowns and two interceptions, while rushing for 305 yards and 10 touchdowns.

O’Neil had other offers from … about a dozen other Power Five conference schools. From the Big Ten, O’Neil had offers from Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern and Purdue. O’Neil also had offers from the likes of Cincinnati, West Virginia, Kentucky, Louisville, and Wake Forest.

Scouting report from Allen Trieu at 247 SportsStarted a lot of games in his high school career. Has experience, has won and been efficient while doing that. Takes good care of the ball and makes good decisions. Snappy thrower who can fit the ball into windows. Solid athlete who can escape pressure and can throw on the move from different angles. Can run with it when he needs to.

In his own words … From his tweet announcing his commitment … First off I would like to thank my parents for their endless love and support. You guys have given me every opportunity I could have asked for without ever questioning a thing. I want to thank my Cathedral coaches and the Morelli family for supporting me and pushing me to become the player that I am today. Thank you to all of the coaches who gave me the opportunity to continue my career for their school. And lastly I want to thank God for blessing me and allowing me to play the game I love. With that being said l will be continuing my athletic and academic career and the University of Colorado.

——

Kamron Mikell – Ath

Just the facts … Committed November 23rd … Mikell is a 6’1″, 181-pound athlete from Statesboro, Georgia … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others say about Mikell … Mikell is listed as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Mikell is rated as the No. 23 athlete in the nation, and the No. 41 player overall out of the state of Georgia. At 247 Sports, Mikell is considered to be the No. 4 athlete in the nation, the No. 14 player overall out of Georgia, and the No. 79 overall prospect in the entire country. Mikell reportedly wants to play wide receiver at Colorado.

Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports breaks down his game … “A wiry two-way athlete with top-flight speed markers. Clocked one of the fastest 40-yard dash times at the 2023 National Combine and is a three-time state qualifier in the 100-meter dash, having placed third at Georgia’s 6A meet as a sophomore with a personal-best 10.50 in spikes. Has lined up at quarterback, wide receiver and running back on Friday nights – and found success in those roles – but is viewed by a lot of schools as a defensive back at the next level. Displays excellent short-area quickness and is an overall fluid mover with obvious burst. Does a nice job of keeping his eye on the quarterback while working at cornerback as he feels out routes and fights for positioning.”

Mikell had other offers from … all over the country, including two-time defending national champion Georgia. Other schools which were considered to be in the running for Mikell’s commitment included Tennessee, Texas A&M and South Carolina. Among the dozens of other Power Five offers came from schools like Florida State, Michigan, Louisville, Nebraska, Michigan State, Florida, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Mississippi, Duke and Virginia Tech.

In his own words … “The place, they’re a different place,” Mikell told 247Sports prior to going public with his plans. “Even though it’s far from home, I feel you can grow better when you don’t feel close. You can grow in uncomfortable places.”

Talan Chandler – OL

De-committed November 19th … Class of 2024 interior offensive lineman Talan Chandler of Nevada (MO) High flipped his commitment from Colorado to Missouri. The 6-foot-4, 295 pounder had been committed to Colorado since February.

“Mizzou was a dream school for me. Being able to stay home  and play in the SEC is an unbelievable opportunity. It was a very hard decision and I have so much love and appreciation for CU and the coaching staff. Ultimately me and my family decided Mizzou was best for me and my future. They are on the up and coming and the program is having a great season. The coaching staff has developed the offensive line into one of the best in the country this season and that really stood out to me.”

Just the facts … Committed February 3rd … Chandler is a 6’3″, 292-pound offensive lineman from Nevada, Missouri … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others have to say about Chandler … Chandler is listed as a three-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At 247 Sports, Chandler is rated as the No. 10 interior lineman in the nation (Chandler is projected to play center for CU), the No. 10 overall prospect out of the state of Missouri, and the No. 699 player overall in the nation.

Chandler had other offers from … only a handful of other schools, none from a Power-Five conference. Chandler did have interest from a number of midwestern Power Five schools, including Iowa State, Missouri, and Kansas State.

In his own words … “I felt Colorado was the right choice for multiple reasons,” he told 247Sports. “The staff, culture and facilities were all amazing. Coach Prime and his vision for the program and where I fit in the program. Coach O’Boyle made me a priority and they let me know they want me and I fit perfectly in the scheme they are going to run.”

Amontrae Bradford – Edge

Committed October 9th … Bradford is a 6’4″, 230-pound edge rusher from Statesboro, Georgia … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

Micah Welch – RB

Committed June 12th … Welch is a 5’9″, 195-pound running back from Millegeville, Georgia … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

Zycarl Lewis – WR

Committed June 11th … Lewis is 5’10”, 160-pound wide receiver from Tampa, Florida … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others have to say about Lewis … Lewis is rated as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Lewis is rated as the No. 19 wide receiver in the nation, the No. 28 player overall out of the state of Florida, and the No. 149 overall prospect in the nation. At 247 Sports, Lewis is listed as the No. 51 wide receiver in the nation, the No. 54 player overall out of the state of Florida, and the No. 342 overall prospect in the country.

Analysis from 247 Sports … A pint-sized playmaker that has given defenses plenty of issues for three-straight years down in the fertile recruiting grounds of Florida. Believed to be hovering right around 5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Measurements – obviously – aren’t ideal, but makes up for the subpar frame with his burst and top-end speed (anchored a 4×100 team that qualified for states as a sophomore). Smooth operator in the slot that can work all different numbers of the route tree and find holes in different coverages. Likes to attack the football and get aggressive at the catch point, which is encouraging given the smaller dimensions. Has also shown that he’s a pretty willing blocker in certain situations. Should be viewed as a gadget player that offensive coordinators can get creative with in hopes of generating chunk plays. Has experience not only as a return man, but was also deployed at times as a running back on Friday nights and was able to rip off a few long runs. Will need to avoid setbacks and must take to coaching when he arrives at the college of his choice, but has some of the skills required to make an impact on Saturdays.

Lewis had other offers from … over two dozen Power Five conference schools. Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Tennessee offered Lewis, as did school like Nebraska, Florida State, Auburn, Iowa, LSU, Miami, Michigan State, and Utah. The early leaders for Lewis’ commitment were Tennessee, Penn State and Florida State, but Lewis committed after his official visit to CU in June.

Brandon Davis-Swain – DL

Just the fact … Committed June 10th … Davis-Swain is a 6’3″, 245-pound defensive end from West Bloomfield, Michigan … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others have to say about Davis-Swain … Davis-Swain is rated as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Davis-Swain is rated as the No. 5 defensive end in the nation, the No. 2 overall player out of the state of Michigan, and the No. 36 prospect overall in the nation. At 247 Sports, Davis-Swain is considered to be the No. 24 defensive end in the nation, the No. 5 overall player out of Michigan, and the No. 201 prospect overall in the country.

Davis-Swain earned all-state honors after recording 12 sacks and 33 quarterback hurries as a junior.

From Rivals … Davis-Swain is a versatile defensive lineman that can fit a number of schemes in college. He’s both strong and quick making him someone that an offense needs to account for at all times. At 6-foot-3, 245-pounds, his frame is still filling out so he could end up playing inside or outside in college.

Davis-Swain had other offers from … over two dozen Power Five schools, including most of the Big Ten. A Notre Dame commit for most of 2022, Davis-Swain was considered to be a likely commit for home state Michigan, but chose the Buffs after an official visit in June (at the time of his commitment, Davis-Swain still had official visits set for Purdue and Michigan. The official visit in June was his third trip to Boulder since January). Other offers came from the likes of Penn State, Auburn, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Tennessee, USC and West Virginia, with Davis-Swain’s final five being Purdue, Colorado, USC, Auburn and Michigan.

Daijon Calimon – WR

De-committed … March 18th … Calimon committed to CU before the arrival of Deion Sanders. When the new staff came on board there was interest but he had not been a top priority either. He didn’t get to meet Sanders on his January visit with the Buffs and it seemed like there had been lukewarm feelings on the part of the Buffs. So, this is not a surprise and really is a mutual parting of ways.

Just the facts … Committed December 3, 2022 … Calimon is a 6’2″, 165-pound wide receiver from Lawndale, California (Leuzinger) … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others have to say about Calimon … Calimon is rated as a three-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Calimon is rated as the No. 52 overall prospect out of the state of California. At 247 Sports, Calimon is considered to be the No. 73 wide receiver in the nation, the No. 50 overall prospect out of California, and the No. 608 player in the nation.

At the Redlands Mega Camp last summer, 247Sports recruiting analyst Blair Angulo referred to Calimon as “the most explosive” player at the event. “He was quick to gain separation from his opponents, showed terrific hands in traffic and was a fluid runner with great body control,” Angulo wrote.

Calimon told 247 Sports he has heard the rumors of Deion Sanders potentially being named the next head coach in Boulder.

“That would be huge, I grew up watching his highlights,” Calimon said. “My whole family grew up watching him play so that would be crazy having an opportunity to play for him, not everyone gets that chance.”

Calimon had other offers from … both Arizona State and Arizona from the Pac-12, along with Colorado State and Nevada from the Mountain West Conference. Calimon has held an offer from Colorado since January of 2022, and took an unofficial visit to Boulder last March.

In his own words … “From the start, Colorado was my first offer, and that played a big part in it,” Calimon told CUSportsReport. “It was the first school to believe in me and give me a chance to showcase my talents at the school.”

Around 12:20 a.m. Feb. 26, police responded to two separate but related shootings, a Valdosta Police Department statement said.

They first responded to the 400 block of East Martin Luther King Drive; the victim, a 16-year-old boy, was taken by a friend to South Georgia Medical Center.

While officers were responding to that shooting, the E911 center received a call about two people being shot in the 2500 block of Bemiss Road, the statement said.

Sipplen was taken into custody without incident.

The Valdosta City School System confirmed White played football for the Valdosta High School Wildcats. He was a junior defensive tackle who had already committed to the University of Colorado and was Region 1-7A Defensive Player of the Year.

Ju’Juan Johnson – CB / QB/ Ath

De-committed … April 23rd … First and Foremost I would like to The University of Colorado for believing in me. I would like to think Coach Prime, Coach Corey, Coach Mathis, and every other coach who continue to have a hand in recruiting me and for believing in my abilities. After further thoughts, prayers, and conversations with my family, I’ve decided to decommit from the University of Colorado for now and open my recruitment back up. Colorado is still a top school and will still be highly considered as I continue to navigate through this process.

Just the facts … Committed February 4th … Johnson is a 5’11”, 180-pound cornerback from Lafayette, Louisiana … Rivals bio247 Sports bio

What others have to say about Johnson … Johnson is rated as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Johnson is considered to be the No. 21 cornerback in the nation, the No. 4 overall prospect out of the state of Louisiana, and the No. 236 overall prospect in the nation. At 247 Sports, Johnson is listed as the No. 28 athlete in the nation, the No. 4 overall player out of Louisiana, and the No. 225 player in the country.

While recruited as a cornerback, Johnson is quite the athlete. Johnson threw for 3,976 yards and 43 touchdowns, and also rushed for 1,284 yards and 17 scores, during his junior season while leading Lafayette Christian Academy to 10 wins.

Johnson also runs track.  He qualified for the Louisiana 2A state meet in the 400 meters as a sophomore in Spring 2022. Johnson ran a first place-winning 50.87 400 at regionals. Ran the second leg of Lafayette Christian’s 2A state championship-winning 4×200 relay, and anchor leg of the 2A silver medal-winning 4×400 relay. Finished third as a freshman at the Louisiana 2A state meet in the 400 meters with a 51.57 in May 2021. Ran a 50.53 400 two weeks prior.

Johnson had other offers from … over a dozen Power Five conference schools, including many of the biggest names. Alabama offered Johnson, as did Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Texas A&M and Florida. Other offers came from the likes of Oregon, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Texas and both of the Mississippi schools.

In his own words … “I’m most excited about just going there and being developed for the next level beyond college while helping the program win games,” Johnson told 247Sports.

“He’s real straight forward and knows the blueprint for success,” Johnson said of Sanders. “He’s done it in his personal life and as coach at Jackson State.”

… “I wanted to be apart of a foundation,” Johnson told On3. “I wanted to build something that has I feel like been broken. The people there are changing the game with their actions and the culture I wanted to be apart of something bigger than just football and I feel like the school is getting ready to do something bigger than just football.

“I feel like when I leave this school I’m gonna be a better man, not just a football player,” he added.

  1. SO’

What happened to all the high school recruits? Only 5? (he ain’t coming..I don’t want him)
I thought we had like 15 at one time.

Why the defections. Especially that receiver from cali who was committed then decommitted and his father was talking about something that could be corrected by a call from Deon

Anyway looks like the kids commit for Deon and Colorado and then when they see all the transfers coming in at their position they move on

    Just wondering.

    Go Buffs.

Note: In order to keep his formula working to win now, he is gonna have to win now.

Has the big 12 put out schedules yet? I might off missed em

  2. Dang
at first It was great so many guys came in so quick. Is it going to keep evaporating?
per the Oregon defection, apparently they are playing for bucks (as opposed to clicks), Thanks to NIL and the portal those with bucks will get richer. The mercenary scene is making harder to be a fan

    1. Hang in there ol’ timer. Whether looking at the landscape overall, or CU specifically, I think it’s hard to say that the power is more consolidated now than prior to the portaling and NIL tampering. It’s way more spread out.

Look no further than seeing new faces in the playoff, and of course, the CU roster.

Now, could anyone but Deion have raised the talent level in Boulder this quickly? Probably not. And there’s still a llllooooong way to go. But he’s just getting started. Still, just getting started.

And recruiting is always fluid anyway. It’s just now we’re sad to see a four or five star – recruit or transfer – change their mind, whereas over the last 25 or so years, we’ve been sad when that highly rated three star in one service – not rated in another – or the guy with five p5 offers changes their mind. Or, when that one – yeah, one – for our five star (can’t really say five star, but we had what, three in the last 25 years) just don’t pan out. The times, they are a changin’.

      It’s a brave new world.

      Go Buffs

  3. Now this is what I’m talking about!!! Can we get a few more of these Hog Mollies. Nice pick up, hope it sticks and others follow!!!!!

  4. you know Saban and Lanning are going to desperation mode. They will be burning up Seaton’s phone for the next week or so. Trash talking, sweet talking, offering more NIL, anything and everything. Hopefully he is blocking them there and on SM.
Lanning wanted Seaton which makes this even sweeter. If the OU lineman kid flips too Dan will have to up the dose of his blood pressure meds (snicker)

    1. coach wants the kids who are investing in their future (and have a legit shot at the league:), an example is Eric’s post of key differentiator below. NIL shouldn’t be an issue as Coach is very transparent about the situation vs. UGA, USC, etc.

    2. Who would you rather talk too? Prime is positivity in the flesh, those others just play one on TV… hahaha.

For everyone of their phone calls, Prime could have a… Tom or dick/Johnson, or a Sapp call him…

Tom Brady, The Rock Johnson and Warren Sapp that is; Hahaha, just having fun.

Sign Seaton and few more and this class is, “the skies is the limit”, who knows who else the Buffs can get too.

You’re right in that Lanning is an ass, and the kind of coach you love to hate, IF you’re a fan of another school, but Oregon fans love his arrogance and run up the score attitude. Prime beating Lanning on a couple of TOP linemen is amazing considering Oregon’s budget(s), operations, recruiting, salaries, NIL & perks and…

Rick George invested in the Champion Center back in 2016, with for site before that. Thought he’d brought in the right guy with Midnight Mel, who was poached at the worst time of year AND century. And after CU becoming the worst team in the Nation and a poor reputation for new coaches, RG goes out and gets Prime.

And now a recruit like Seaton is coming on board saying the Buffs are ready for a Championship run (with the right pieces added) only adds fuel to the Buff’s recruitment. Looking forward to more announcements and early signing day. I’m betting/hoping Prime will get a few of his target on the first round and a few more will see who signs and come aboard in the second round of signing.

Prime won’t get them all, but get a few like Seaton (on both sides of the ball) and it will make all the difference. Get Shedeur proper protection and he’ll play better than he did in the first three games this year, and he played really well, he was in the Heisman conversation. On a 1-11 team!

    3. Seaton was all over the place, Bayless’s show, Eisen’s show, in Buff gear including the Deion signature sunglasses. I don’t think he’ll be changing his mind.

  5. I like this quote from Jordan that I saw on rivals:

“There aren’t many mostly black coaching staffs out there. Just seeing somewhat familiar faces and people who look like me on the coaching staff is definitely very rare. There are only a few black head coaches in college football so it’s definitely rare seeing that.”

    Go Buffs

  6. Wonder why Prime can’t land any Colorado kids….Some are good enough for Tennessee, KSU, the anteaters, ISU……No 4 stars but solid 3’s. Just curious. Is he working the HS coaches? establishing rapport? Would be good for long run. Can somebody give him Dave Logan’s phone number, he ain’t hard to find……

  7. The writing is on the wall. Sanders is leaving and we are banking on 24’.

From a program standpoint that’s horrible. Can’t run a program off transfers and cant build a college program from the outside in.

Kids have to develop, grow together. These kids know Deion is not bought in to the program. And that’s ok, but I just hope the Administration has a backup plan.

We are totally banking on next year. The please please please article was good, but reality is here.

Recruits even said they know he is leaving. It was fun this year, but it will be done after next year. And then what? You wanna talk about players leaving!

Colorado fans deserves transparency, but like I said it on the wall.

Mel Tucker 2.0. I pray for the best!

  8. Until the O-line is beefed up, I couldn’t imagine any quarterback willingly wanting to get destroyed week in and week out the way Shedeur was this season

    1. What, you don’t want a fractured back? Nor for your son? Come on mr Oliver!

I was also very encouraged by staub’s progress. Really hope he sticks around.

      Go Buffs

  9. Shedeur bearings have had a carry over effect. I Guess we need to find a QB who can take his beatings like a man.
Mr. Staub…..PLEASE do not enter the portal. Eric days the big dudes who can effectively block in a no scheme offense are comin.

  10. It’s a good sign when CU lands a top rated athlete in their class, and people complain he’s not a four or five star lineman.

    Happy thanksgiving!

    Go Buffs

  11. Hmmm
    Is there favoritism?
    Probably but such is life.

The people listed on the coaching staff page (all jobs) are all Prime people brought here by him.

CU football is Prime infested. Is that good…………Bad?”:

    Go Buffs.

Note: The bad news is Smoke is a graduate student.
Note 2: The good news so is Shilo
Note 3: Here we sit with the familiar Buff Fan refrain….WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR

  12. This does not bode well. We know we will still get some recruits with Prime at the helm. But more damning than anything we’re the teeets from Smoke claiming it’s every man for himself. Prime will need to reconcile and figure out a completely different formula since flipping the roster is obviously not a cure all.

    1. 105 kids. Not all will be happy. Especially a guy in his final year – at least I think final year – who didn’t get the touches he thought he would.

I guarantee some will think it’s because the staff, and prime in particular, played favorites.

Others will see that three or four other guys got more game reps, and believe they earned them over those who didn’t.

      Go Buffs

    2. Smoke was one of those guys who played the most for the cameras and was over valued.
There wont be many quality O linemen coming in the next class. Almost all are committed elsewhere. Depending on who Sanders gets in the portal he may have to live with the ones still here.

  13. Bummer to lose an o lineman, but it sounds like he was wanting to go to mizzou if they offered, and they did. Amid a surprisingly solid season no less. Still took him ten days to say buh bye to the Buffs.

    Go Buffs

  14. This new O lineman has made more stops than a UPS driver. That has me worried but we need someone and beggars cant be choosers.

  15. Good morning, Stuart. I am wondering if you would mind adding one more line to your recruiting rankings that shows the number of recruits in each ranking group, i.e., 5 stars, 4 stars, 3 stars, etc. Glancing through the rankings above, there are more 4 than 3 stars. With the obvious increase in the level of recruit that Prime is bringing, this addition might add a benchmark to show this.

Only a suggestion from a reader who checks your site multiple times a day, but your website your rules and your valuable time.

  16. Always good to see a D line player commit. But I am beginning to sound like a bot (beginning?) more O lineman please. They get vacuumed up quickly in the portal. Gotta have some in the pipeline too.
Must be a few good ones in Georgia.

    1. Make a bowl game or better and they will be there.

Started late last year. Expect better this year and last year was pretty good,.

How many new players next year?

      15 recuts
      30 portal?

      Go Prime wave

      1. Yep there are very few players that can start on the offensive line coming out of HS. Looks like most of the O-line and D-line are going to have to come from the portal. Recruiting should get interesting when the portal opens up.

  17. So as of June 27 Mighty Buffs are 48th in recruiting for 2024.

I don’t care where they end up. I just want them to end up with their current player average of
89.56 or better. Quality vs quantity for recruiting class of 24.
Go big Buff recruiting of the 4 star 2024 recruiting class.

Note: Based on average the Buffs would be ranked 14th today

Note 2: Go get the quantity in the “Twighlight errrrrrr Transfer Portal. Big number of stars good here too. Perhaps ranked number 1 in the transfer portal again next year. What ya think? How many………….I say 35 plus

  18. So I just want to take a moment to talk about how big a change this is. I mean, wow! Just wow! 3 four star recruits in 3 days (spaced out so they can each get their day in the sun). #15 running back in the nation. I did not follow CU back in the early 2000’s and before. Was it like that back then? It has never been that way since I started to make a hobby of CU football…. I remember being super excited about 1 or 2 four stars in a class….. wow, I really don’t think anyone but Prime could have done this….

    1. It’s nice, huh?

From my lens, the public part of the recruiting machine didn’t really exist prior to 2000. And, probably only really started gaining traction as “news and analysis” maybe circa the mid 2000s? So, it’s hard to compare rankings and such now to the glory days of say 88-94-ish.

But, back in the day, the team was full of dudes. Obviously. I think the 1994 draft was the heaviest CU ever had. Upwards of a dozen draft picks or so? Rick was able to keep the momentum going, as well. I think the 2001 team put maybe ten guys into the NFL? But, after that? The high water mark was the 2016 team/2017 draft with like six drafted and a couple UDFA’s.

The self-imposed recruiting sanctions did no favors, chaperones, 10pm curfews, etc.

Prime has fuel, that’s for sure. That’s also why I don’t think he cares whether CU is in Big 12 or Pac 12 or wherever. He’ll recruit all over to get the kids he wants. He’s got what, 20 from FL now?

I also love that they’ve got 300+ walk-on candidates coming to camp shortly. As he and Klatt mused, you think they won’t find some gems in that bunch? Three or five? Of course they will.

It’s going to be fun to watch them roll out against TCU, who lost a ton of talent from last year. Do they have the depth to replace them? We’ll find out.

      Go Buffs

      1. So you were on the other side of that bet last year. You obviously had a much better take than I. What are your feelings so far?

        1. Well? I know Prime’s going to make it work. Fine. I think I know he’ll make it work. Will tbey crush expectations this year (ours/outsiders, not theirs)? Do I see six wins or more this year? I’m closer to it after watching him and Joel, but damn. Pac 12 is probably the toughest conference, top to bottom, of them all this season.

But, you hear Deion talk about their receivers. And we can see there’s some studs there. NFL studs. Same for running backs. And DBs. Are the lines going to be that improved too? Edge rushers (yes). Linebackers? Probably.

It’s going to be amazing to watch unfold, that’s for sure. And, if it works even to a “small” degree (as Joel said, bumping from one win to five is no easy task) who will the next first-year coach be that tries this? Can they even do it, or is the current system just set up for a guy like Deion? It’s a wild experiment. I’m honestly not even sure Saban, or Dabo could walk into say Northwestern, and do what Deion’s done.

But, I said a while back Deion’s at the playground, picking his guys. When we did that, drawing plays in the dirt as kids, the team w/ the dudes won. Every time. Yeah, that’s a broad over simplification, but if he’s loaded the team w/ dudes – and they know they won’t hit on them all – they really could exceed our expectations.

I do think they’ll shock TCU. They lost a lot of talent. Nebraska? Just gotta win that one. CSU? Going to crush them.

From there? Hard to see too many more wins. But, I think they’ll end up between 5 and 7. And that would earn Deion coach of the eons, in my opinion. Not for his X’s and O’s, and ability to motivate, but for his ability to get dudes. And, with even a modicum of success, which I’m sure they’ll have (ie: three wins and being competitive and in every other game vs. it being over by the 2nd quarter) the recruiting will continue to take off.

What we’re seeing is pretty unprecedented. Going to be a fun fall!

          Go Buffs

          1. Dude. You seem like the guy who tells the skaters not to ride in the empty parking lot and who won’t support building a skate park. Get off my lawn guy.

            Go Buffs

  19. I love this, but while I feel great about Micah, I also feel he’s waiting for the SEC offers. But still awesome to be getting these high of commits!

  20. 4 star ⭐️ s all over the place. Beating out teams at the top of the Big 10 and SEC. It is to the point now that I’m DISAPPOINTED if HCP recruits a 3 star guy. Already spoiled and Prime hasn’t won a game yet.

    1. And the latest addition makes 5 four star recruits out of 8 recruits, and another recruit (#16/#28 D-line) that is only one point away from being a four star. In the past a CU commit would fall in their rating, but now with CP they could increase a point to make it six of eight; he has his senior year to make it happen.

Six out of eight players are 89 points or above and the 3 star OL player is #10 interior in the nation, we’ll take that!

The QB is a ball protector with solid stats and I saw that CP has a 5 star QB with interest visiting too.

First two games are on Fox’s “Big Show” and the lesser third game against CSU game on ESPN Saturday night, play as well as CP is predicting and the next two games (Oregon & USC) goes to big time national time slots too!

How would the first five games on National TV effect CP’s recruiting? If CP has a winning record, and I’m betting on a winning record after the first five games, these recruits will stick and other will join. Question is, can CP & staff and the players get 3, 4 or all 5 even of those? We’ll see!

I’m betting on at least 3 wins, but 4 of 5 wins sounds right with USC who is also killing it in the portal being the toughest one. But upsets at TCU & Oregon are very possible and I EXPECT neb & CSU to be wins.

  21. Really delighted to see the commit from DL Brandon Davis Swain as a host of good programs were seeking him. Here’s hoping that he stays true with the pledge as he’ll likely continue to be courted and wooed. Meanwhile I note that previous commit Omar White still remains on the 2024 CU recruiting roster as he awaits adjudication on extremely serious felony charges. I certainly have no idea how that case will turn out and I haven’t seen anything on how the case is proceeding. Being that he was a juvenile I wonder how aggressive the prosecutor will be especially that it appears that a 20 year old cohort faces even more charges in the matter. The only thing I know about criminal law is that one always should strive to not break the law. If implicated in the matter, but to a lesser extent, can his charges be reduced down to where he perhaps is offered a short leash restorative-diversionary type sentencing obligation that could maybe allow him to straighten up and fly right and pursue college football in Boulder? Any insights on this?

    1. I haven’t seen any updates on the legal status for Omar White, either.
I am hopeful, though, that your thoughts will prove to be correct, and that, as a minor (and assuming White was not involved more than we have heard) that the system will see the benefit of White getting a college education and a chance for redemption.
My fear is that the Court and/or prosecutor will want to keep him closer to home, and that White will end up de-committing from CU and staying with one of the many other options in Georgia.

      1. Yes I can most definitely see that scenario you note where there would be the need to stay in his state justice system. I think of a nephew of mine who at around the same age got mixed up with the wrong people and made a serious mistake. As originally charged he too could have been looking at time in the klink. Fortunately the court gave some lenience where he would have to pay a fine and serve probation, do community service, and I think there was a counseling element as well. While not a good athlete, his good vocational mind allowed him to eventually work as an electricians helper here…study and get his journeyman’s…shed himself of the wrong people, meet the legal obligations, learn his lesson, and do well.

  22. Butler? OMG. sounds more like a 5 star.
    still
I can understand why all the skill players want to play for Prime. O linemen must be quite as dazzled.
we only got one OL commit I believe…..and one Frosh on the team. OL is supposed to take time to get a group to work together, Which means frosh dont always get in the game (van Wells being an exception, prolly because the rest were so bad)….and we dont know how good the coordination or talent is going to be with the starters by the end of summer practice. Boyle and Lewis got their work and Boyle always says everything sucks right now. Hope its sandbagging.

    1. I do not share your concerns about the lines. Boyle and Lewis brought a couple dudes from Kent state that they know who are like 23yrs old. Deion and co seem to know what they are looking for. Lots more size, speed and athleticism on the d line too.

I know. You’re worried if they can come together and play as a team in short order?

Dudes on a playground do ok. Football is football. And? They cannot be worse than we saw last year.

      Go Buffs

      1. no, they cant be any worse than last year, but how much better will they be? Its a long ways up from last year.
My main concern, which you seem to have missed, is getting some more in the pipeline. This is a recruiting article.
Dudes on a playground? Football is football? Translation???

        1. If you’re concerned about the recruiting pipeline, maybe this will help?

          https://247sports.com/college/colorado/article/colorado-football-nevada-missouri-ol-talan-chandler-taking-activ-210333349/

And this, from The Athletic piece Stu just posted:
While the rest of the college football world is anticipating a possible disaster at Colorado, offensive line coach Bill O’Boyle didn’t sound concerned while talking with me from his rented home near campus.

He wasn’t pounding the pavement of every local high school or hopping from plane to plane, desperately scrambling to make up for the more than 50 players who have departed Colorado’s roster since Deion Sanders took over. Instead, he was fielding phone calls — and not from this year’s incoming class. He’s already looking at recruits for the 2025 cycle.

“We’ll be fine. We got enough kids on our list right now,” he said. “We might come down to the wire on a couple of guys this summer, but the way it’s been going right now I’m not worried. The media conveniently doesn’t bring it up, but we’ve placed a lot of guys already. And those players are a lot better than what we’ve had.”

More importantly, however, you know Deion’s not resting on his laurels. He’s scouring the world for talented kids to come to Boulder. In his vernacular, smart, tough, fast, disciplined, with character. They comin’.

          Go Buffs.

          1. yeah
Boyles comments about being fine came only an hour or 2 after I referred to his prior badmouthing
            sigh.
Think he read my comment too?

  23. Oh wait. Deion’s doing it wrong? What about the high school kids? Ah, never mind. He’s bringing in talent from the high school ranks, too.

    Go Buffs

  24. Everything I have seen in the scrimmage and the spring game I feel certain they are going to need Hunter on D a lot more. Still MLC leaves even though he is guaranteed a lot of PT.
Still kills me how all these high profile guys who leave have to gone on and on about how things here in Boulder are so great and wonderful but I’m leaving anyway chumps. Is that somehow supposed to mitigate the guilt and/or embarrassment of defection?
Cant wait for one of these guys to be honest…..never will be if they think the coach doesnt give em a fair shake, That would kinda put a doubt mark with the next coach.
But if a guy says “gotta follow the money” more power to him even though money (and ego) is eroding the team spirit and the game.

  25. So

    So Gained one
    Lost 2 two

The one has never been here
One of the two has played here and after a good showing in the Spring Game left

The other one has been here saw the spring game and left

    Cracks?

Prime has he work cut out for him now more than ever.

Go big Prime…………………..Lotta words and slogans.,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  26. This is the highest rated quarterback, using 247, to commit to CU since before 2009. I stopped looking after the 2009 year. So the trend line is up for the position but what a sorry recent history for the program.

  27. Adios Omar. Next time head to Nebraska. They will hide the gun for you.
    Goin backwards though
lose a D lineman and game another skill player. I think Ju’Juan is the 2nd CB recruited who has crazy passing stats. Di we have a viable back up for Shedeur now?

    1. Those Nebraska comments are funny. Remember the SI OU gun stories circa 1988. They ran a huge article and it was wild! I’d say unless it is total mistaken identity, I think Omar is done with college football. Better to have it happen now than when he has signed a LOI or is in Boulder. Ju’Juan is intriguing. We will see what happens with the backup QB situation, but a dual threat or freak athlete could be a decent backup plan.

  28. You ep freezing your arse off

    2024 commits so
    1 wr
    1 ol
    2 dl

    okay then

    Buffs.

Note: Prime says he don’t care about stars…………….but he heavy on louie.

    1. Got some stars anyway with the Johnson kid just now. Sounds like he is being recruited as a CB which may be a waste. We got CBs out the wazoo. Looking at his QB stats he sounds like the Rashada we were looking for. (Sorry AL, GA et al…not sorry)
Funny that the front range was quite a bit colder than us for about a week. Of course you must be greeting us from whatever resort you are staying at in Palm Beach or Bal Harbor. While you are there amble on down to Key West. Go to Leach’s bar and give that a star rating.

  29. Hope that dude can pass block. No doubt that he can pull for the POWER game Coach Lewis used at Kent St. And, God help the guy inside on a down block cause “He’s comin”

  30. Prime seems to be attracting the skill positions by the bushel. Sure wish there were a few more OLs on that visitor list.

    1. He’ll get there. He knows the need. And more importantly, he can recruit the 300lb dudes who run 4.7-4.9 40s. It just may take a cycle.

      Go Buffs

      1. O linemen go about their business without a lot of attention so all the attention being shown toPrime may have less of a draw for them. Gotta get em here so they can meet the real Prime.

        1. That’s a real good point.
There are open offers to oline guys that hopefully hit tomorrow.

One might suspect that the oline guys want to go where the skill players are.

Go Big Prime…………………………….bring in the beef

  31. Can anyone tell me the last time Boulder had as many high caliber athletes of underclassmen on campus as this last weekend?

    Gonna be good.

      1. VKThanks for including me in The Fabulous Threesome. Hopefully Coach Prime gets all this figured out and we three very wise mature adults don’t have to unretire comeback to Folsom and show them how it’s done. That loud sound in my ears isn’t the cheers of yesteryday yore but an adjustment needed to my hearing aids. But by gosh I ain’t gonna ask for the moon like those two Bama players that Saban told to take a hike. The entry code to the Kappa House will be just fine for me.

        1. Dont give up hope.
There is still time for science to perfect joint repair and restore muscle tone.
On second thought that might make everyone in the general population a player.
          Sigh

  32. Two things about this huge weekend: (1) it is about building relationships– one part with with the recruit, the 2nd part is with his HS coach: and (2) it is about exposure and just the ability to bring the best to your campus– if your Jr. Day compares well the top-8 Bluebloods, then you are competing against the very best. It puts you squarely on the map and your “foot is in the door.”

I’m not sure how many of these kids will commit and eventually stick to their commitment by signing. For each individual athlete, there are so many factors in play–many are not even about Prime or CU. Thus, a no commitment or a de-commit is not awful either. Again, you or “in the door” with those high level recruits and that means a lot in and of itself.

Perhaps the only thing in CU’s somewhat control is their record next year, which I be a huge factor maybe in CU’s control. Winning late in the season would help recruiting momentum. For instance, if CU had a 3 win season, Prime is not as stable, CU has not arrived, but the recruits can see a good chance of playing quick–that could be a draw. Conversely, CU hits big with 8-10 wins– then the recruit has to take a good look as to whether given their position they may actually play in 2-3 years. That is a totally different issue for certain recruits– some may want to come in and just compete and enjoy a winning team; others will be like if I go to X, I’ll maybe play right away.

  33. It is clear that if one of Stuarts poll question answers is @middle of the road (non committal) a Buff fan will take it. Inbred.

    Go Buffs.
Note: Middle of the road = wishy washy = no committal = earwax

    1. Hey, good morning! Thanks for trolling. I actually voted for the high expectations. But it really doesn’t matter. This team’s competitive jump is what will put the 2024 class in the top five. Wanna bet? Keep on trollin on. Have a good weekend.

    2. And speaking of wishi washi, you go from “please coach prime, don’t come to Boulder, you’re not a fit” to being all in, but then complaining about the recruits he isn’t getting, and on and on and on. And we already know you’ll complain about at least one coach all season long, saying he should be fired.

      Enjoy the ride.

  34. Gotta say it’s unfortunate the weather is going to turn into a deep freeze this weekend. Having said that, the weather is being blown out of proportion by so many. Yeah December-January are usually cold, but the rest of the year is fantastic. They’ll see. But, recruiting trips in Spring and Fall would probably be a lot better.

    1. If you haven’t seen the video of Deion in vail, he’s loving it.

Also, I had a buddy at CU who went a year wearing shorts every day. To prove a point. It ain’t that cold. Kid lives in telluride these days.

Heading to fl saturday. dang storm delayed the flight 4 days

      See ya and go prime-buffs

Let Prime show you the way

        1. Not gonna be above freezing for the big event

Need the sun to show what it is capable of and why 30 degrees is really 45 degrees in Boulder.

          come on Big Prime Sun

          1. FIGHT!! FIGHT! between vk & ep or are they just standing SHOULDER TO shoulder singing the victory song? This has me scared as we need them lucid and open minded to help Prime if he loses his way with the upcoming NEW & GOTTA BE VASTLY IMPROVED Buffs. We more elderly and mature long time Buff followers need that terrible twosome on the Bus as there does eventually come a day when the golf is being played on the underside of the turf, therefore gotta go out big time as in the good ole days.

  35. Morning.

This 2024 recruiting is quite interesting.
    It’s meaning is what?

    Gotta study this phenomena.
    Not Normal.
    The effect driving this?

    Have to figure it out.

    But the big question is…….
Will that effect/phenomena still be powerful on signing day for 2024

    Lotta what ifs here.

    Buffs.

    notearama:
    1. Go Ducks beat them east coast guys.
    2. Go big Prime recruiting. Big Day Feb 1?????
    3. Go big Prime transfer portal. You asked for dline. Haven’t seen them yet
    4. Frigging snowed again last night. Was supposed to be just rain. Back to fl asap

  36. Omar White isn’t a high school junior.. he’s a grown man that’s going to wreck havoc in the PAC when he arrives (another amazing get for Coach Prime)
