Jordan Seaton – OL

Just the facts … Committed December 7th … Seaton is a 6’5″, 287-pound offensive tackle from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida … Rivals bio … 247 Sports bio …

What others say about Seaton … Seaton is rated as a five-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Seaton is listed as the No. 1 offensive tackle in nation, the No. 8 prospect out of the talent-rich state of Florida, and the No. 13 overall prospect in the entire country. At 247 Sports, Seaton is listed as the No. 1 offensive tackle, the No. 5 player out of Florida, and the No. 30 overall prospect in the country.

247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins breaks down what Colorado is getting in Seaton:  “One of the few offensive line prospects in the 2024 cycle that has a chance to be a left tackle at the game’s highest levels. Completely reworked his body from the time he first emerged on the recruiting scene as a freshman up in the D.C. area, shedding a ton of bad weight while adding plenty of functional strength in the upper half. Updated measurements weren’t available in advance of senior season, but was believed to be hovering somewhere around 6-foot-5, 290 pounds with a 6-foot-10 wingspan to boost. Quick-footed and exceptionally agile for someone of his stature.”

Seaton had other offers from … pretty much every Power Five conference team in the nation. Just to give you an idea, Seaton took official visits to Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Oregon and Tennessee. Seaton also took unofficial visits to Georgia, Florida State, Miami, North Carolina and Oklahoma … you kind of get the idea that Seaton could have gone anywhere he wanted to go.

In his own words … “My favorite thing about that program is probably the head coach,” Seaton has told 247Sports in the past. “He’s a gold jacket. He knows what it looks like. As you can see with Shedeur (Sanders) he knows how to get you to the league.”

“What excites me about Boulder is the potential that the school and the team has!” Seaton has also said before. “To compete for the college football playoff soon.”

Seaton really enjoyed the environment Sanders created regarding both visits. “They play with a chip on their shoulder,” Seaton said. “They know everyone is watching so when they strap up their helmets all week and on game day especially they have to come with their A game.”

From Gabe Brooks at 247 Sports … Devastating offensive weapon who makes plays for his high school team at receiver, running back, and Wildcat QB, accompanied by ample defensive snaps and return game experience. Wins with physical tools, instincts, tenacity, and football IQ.

One of the most dynamic run-after-catch playmakers in the country. Produced astronomical receiving numbers and limited-but-strong rushing totals in sophomore and junior campaigns.

Contested-throw bully. Plays much larger than on-paper size. Very strong hands and a stout-trunked build knock defenders out of his orbit. Not afraid to work the middle of the field and will torture smaller defenders there with physicality and relentlessness.

Violent runner with running back’s gait. Open-field galloper with adequate to above average top-end field speed. Realistically could move to a full-time running back role and likely maintain similar standing as a prospect.

What others have to say about Davis-Swain … Davis-Swain is rated as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Davis-Swain is rated as the No. 8 defensive end in the nation, the No. 2 overall player out of the state of Michigan, and the No. 101 prospect overall in the nation (down from the No. 36 player when he committed last June). At 247 Sports, Davis-Swain is considered to be the No. 31 defensive end in the nation, the No. 4 overall player out of Michigan, and the No. 230 prospect overall in the country (down from 201 when he committed).

The 2023 Metro Detroit Defensive Player of the Year, Brandon Davis-Swain should push for early playing time on the Buffaloes’ defensive line as a true freshman. His playmaking ability on offense as a senior at West Bloomfield (Mich.) High turned heads. Not only was Davis-Swain a bruising offensive weapon, he also got downfield to make plays with his athleticism.

From Rivals … Davis-Swain is a versatile defensive lineman that can fit a number of schemes in college. He’s both strong and quick making him someone that an offense needs to account for at all times. At 6-foot-3, 245-pounds, his frame is still filling out so he could end up playing inside or outside in college.

Davis-Swain had other offers from … over two dozen Power Five schools, including most of the Big Ten. A Notre Dame commit for most of 2022, Davis-Swain was considered to be a likely commit for home state Michigan, but chose the Buffs after an official visit in June (at the time of his commitment, Davis-Swain still had official visits set for Purdue and Michigan. The official visit in June was his third trip to Boulder since January). Other offers came from the likes of Penn State, Auburn, Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Tennessee, USC and West Virginia, with Davis-Swain’s final five being Purdue, Colorado, USC, Auburn and Michigan.

Kamron Mikell – Ath

CUBuffs.com bio can be found here

Just the facts … Committed November 23rd … Mikell is a 6’1″, 181-pound athlete from Statesboro, Georgia … Rivals bio … 247 Sports bio …

What others say about Mikell … Mikell is listed as a four-star prospect by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At Rivals, Mikell is rated as the No. 23 athlete in the nation, and the No. 41 player overall out of the state of Georgia. At 247 Sports, Mikell is considered to be the No. 4 athlete in the nation, the No. 14 player overall out of Georgia, and the No. 79 overall prospect in the entire country. Mikell reportedly wants to play wide receiver at Colorado.

Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports breaks down his game … “A wiry two-way athlete with top-flight speed markers. Clocked one of the fastest 40-yard dash times at the 2023 National Combine and is a three-time state qualifier in the 100-meter dash, having placed third at Georgia’s 6A meet as a sophomore with a personal-best 10.50 in spikes. Has lined up at quarterback, wide receiver and running back on Friday nights – and found success in those roles – but is viewed by a lot of schools as a defensive back at the next level. Displays excellent short-area quickness and is an overall fluid mover with obvious burst. Does a nice job of keeping his eye on the quarterback while working at cornerback as he feels out routes and fights for positioning.”

Mikell had other offers from … all over the country, including two-time defending national champion Georgia. Other schools which were considered to be in the running for Mikell’s commitment included Tennessee, Texas A&M and South Carolina. Among the dozens of other Power Five offers came from schools like Florida State, Michigan, Louisville, Nebraska, Michigan State, Florida, Indiana, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Mississippi, Duke and Virginia Tech.

In his own words … “The place, they’re a different place,” Mikell told 247Sports prior to going public with his plans. “Even though it’s far from home, I feel you can grow better when you don’t feel close. You can grow in uncomfortable places.”

22 Replies to “CU Class of 2024 – Signed Letters of Intent”

  1. Garcia signing was Prime holding true to his word that he would sign one player from SW Florida a year. Garcia was best player on Dunbar team that went to FL final 4 two years in a row. Let’s hope he gets the Watson kid from Naples back in the fold.

  2. Rivals says Garcia is 6’3″ and 235 lbs. Thats a disance from 6’0″ and 210. Please let the former be correct or you might as well leave Woods at LB.
I was curious if the cobbs took in Omar White to add to their hall of infamy. Doesnt look like he has signed anywhere or I couldnt find it. I did notice that his previous 4 star ranking has been reduced to 2. Do they factor in rap sheets?

  3. How many scholarships are remaining, if any for the Feb signing period? While I love the class, and addressing both lines, it’s a little disconcerting the small number of signings for incoming freshmen. Was hoping to see 12-15, or is that not possible with 16 transfers? Still a great incoming class

    1. CU is close to the 85 scholarship limit (I’m going to post an update in a week or so, after Christmas).
There will be plenty of defections after spring (not like last year, but 10-15 wouldn’t be a surprise, so there will be scholarships available to fill.

  4. Since the original commitment on national television with Shannon Sharpe, Michael Irvin, Keyshon, a flip may have butchered his credibility. Then upon watching coach Prime on Rich Eisen’s show, it became pretty clear this commitment would stick. Seaton seems quite mature for his age and clearly intelligent enough to understand the magnitude of his impending good fortune here at CU as a Buff. Excited to see him play.

  5. I’m happy about Jordan Seaton coming aboard. In fact I’m happy about the entire effort to address team needs with emphasis again on the transfer portal. I’m not sure where the team stands currently with open scholarship slots available, but if I had my druthers I would wish for a last minute Kris Kringle stocking stuffer of another TE to join Chamon Metayer before the portal closes on 1/3/24. Seasons Greetings to all!!

  6. It sounds like it was only dramatic for us, and the media mavens following recruiting. Deion recorded a piece with Stephen a smith that dropped after the announcement, but was done prior to, and he knew.

It also sounds like Jordan is about going to work. Despite his natural gifts.

    Go Buffs

  7. IF WE WOULD HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT A RECRUITMENT PERIOD – 8 YRS AGO – LIKE THE ONE WE’RE HAVING, SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD US “YOU’RE CRAZY” ….. THEN CALLED THE WHITE COATS.

LIFE IS ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE AND THE QUALITY OF IT…. WHEN TALKING TO SEATON, I WOULD EMPHASIZE THAT PARTICULAR POINT. THE UNIQUENESS OF THE EXPERIENCE IN BOULDER WOULD BE – BY FAR – SOMETHING NO OTHER UNIVERSITY CAN OFFER.

AS IT WOULD RELATE TO HIS SIGNING WITH OUR BUFFS, I TRULY BELIEVE MR. SEATON’S TIME IN BOULDER WOULD FAR SURPASS ANYTHING HE WOULD FIND IN A DIFFERENT ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT.

HE SHOULD REMEMBER THAT HIS MONETARY CAREER WILL TAKE CARE OF HIM – IN MILLIONS OF DOLLARS – NO MATTER WHERE HE ATTENDS COLLEGE. HE SHOULD ALSO THINK ABOUT THE FACT THAT A CAREER IN FOOTBALL WILL BE A SMALL SEGMENT OF HIS PROJECTED LIFE.

WHAT IS LEFT WILL BE MEMORIES.

  8. My guess is CU will have to settle for 4 stars and high 3 star players out of HS, just because there are a lot more of them. 5 star players are probably commanding $1M or more depending on position. Although Texas A&M found out after spending $30M that some 5 stars are 3 stars and vice versa. Not sure how boosters will feel about the money being wasted, but then again Texas A&M gave $85M to have Jimbo walk away so money doesn’t seem to be a factor.

    1. think about that every time you fill up your gas tank. there is no limit to oil money and A&M’s major graduates are petroleum engineers.

    1. Kid got what he wanted – exposure. But in this day and age, does today really matter for high school kids? This makes me sad to type. It almost matters more for portal players.

    2. He can play close to home. And get paid. And transfer to CU later, if he wants to.

Or? He can sign with CU. We’ll find out!

Either way, look on the bright side, BCP that kid wouldn’t have even moderately considered CU. And, we got four solid transfers. And, the “actual” signing period is still in January. And the second portal window, post spring tryouts.

So, we got that goin for us. Which is nice.

Come on ol’ feller, turn that frown upside down.

      Go Buffs

    3. You do realize Maryland is in the Big 10, while that $60M (twice as much as CU) payout each year can’t be used directly it does free up a lot of NIL money for them to use.

  9. Love the LOI Tracker, Stuart! Thanks for doing it again this year. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and Go Buffs! I’ll feel much better when I see Jordan Seaton’s name added to “LOI Received” list.
