Sixteen pollsters have CU in their AP poll

There are 61 voters in the Associated Press college football poll. This week, 16 of the 61 had the Buffs in their Top 25, according to College Poll Tracker. This also means that 45 voters still have CU on the outside looking in.

The highest ranking for the Buffs came from Dave Reardon at the Honolulu Star Advertiser, who has the Buffs this week as the No. 18 team in the nation.

Two other voters – Jason Butt at the Macon, Georgia, telegraph, and John Adams at the Knoxville News Sentinel – have the Buffs at No. 19, while two others – Adam Zucker of the CBS Sports Network and Scott Wolf of the Los Angeles Daily News – have Colorado at No. 20.

… Brian Howell of the Boulder Daily Camera has Colorado as the No. 24 team in the country …

CU holds on to No. 25 spot in CBS Sports 1-130 rankings

From CBS Sports … Even through the years of NCAA sanctions, USC’s had a talented roster with future pros. And throughout the last decade, it has usually finished the year in the neighborhood of 10 wins. It’s been the unfulfilled expectations (2012) and falling short in big-time conference contests that frustrates fans and has left college football pundits wary of declaring that USC is “back.”

So when the Trojans started the year by allowing Western Michigan to not only hang around, but have real success running the ball in the opener, the CBS Sports and 247Sports voters with ballots for the CBS 130 reacted dramatically, resulting in a drop out of the top five for USC.

However, after watching USC put on a show against Stanford in a battle of Pac-12 title hopefuls, all of those worries have apparently subsided. There was a “prove it” aspect to the 42-24 win against the Cardinal, and now — at least for the moment — we’re ready to say USC is “back.”

From the Pac-12 …

4. USC – up 14 spots from last week

9. Washington – up three spots

17. Stanford – down seven

22. Oregon – plus six

23. UCLA – plus six

25. Colorado – same as last week

27. Washington State – down five (despite beating Boise State)

28. Utah – up two

62. Cal – down eight (after needing fourth quarter rally to defeat Weber State)

79. Arizona State – down 11

83. Arizona – down 14

99. Oregon State – down 6

USC moved up two spots in the latest poll, breaking into the top four, while Washington moved up one spot, to No. 6. 9. Washington Huskies

18. Stanford

22. Washington State

24. Colorado … A Buffs defense supposedly gutted by the NFL draft has yet to allow a touchdown. Steven Montez found Shay Fields (110 yards) and others. Washington (two weeks away) can’t get here soon enough.

    1. Well, the good news is, the same OL coach you liked last year is on the case. Or, is he no longer a favored son of yours?

The offense will put it together. O-line, QB, coaches, et al. September 23rd will be here soon enough. That’s when it gets real.

      Chill out and enjoy.

      Go Buffs.

  1. It would really be nice for the Buffs to be in the top 25 for the Washington game. Could get a game day dealeooo on espn. Wow.

The first Real test for the Buffs Mighty D. Pac 12 players and coaches are different than what the Buffs have already played. But I do not believe the
    Buffs D is a fluke.

Hopefully the way the Buffs offense has played the last two games (coaches and Players) is a fluke(s)

3 and 0 and away we go.

    Bring on them lil dogs.

    Buffs
