In a game delayed at the start due to a tornado in the region, the Cyclones blew some ill wind of their own, returning a fumble and an interception 66 yards apiece to provide the final margin. The Buffs held the Cowboys to only 208 yards in total offense, posting a second shutout in a season since the 1991 and 1992 Buffs accomplished the same feat.
