Committed November 4th … Ward is a 6’1″, 174-pound athlete from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida … 247 Sports bioOn3Sports/Rivals bio … Ward is the brother of Christian Ward, a CU Recruiting Class of 2026 commitment (see bio for Christian Ward, below).

What others say about Ward … Ward is rated as a four-star prospect by both 247 Sports and On3Sports/Rivals. At 247 Sports, Ward is listed as the No. 14 athlete in the nation, the 27 player overall out of the state of Florida, and the No. 285 prospect overall in the nation. At On3Sports/Rivals, Ward is considered to be the No. 10 athlete in the nation, the No. 22 prospect out of the state of Florida, and the No. 216 player in the country.

Ward had other offers from … over a dozen Power Four schools, including Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina and Ole Miss. Ward committed to Alabama in November of 2024, during his sophomore season in high school, but then decommitted in October, 2025, shortly after his brother committed to Colorado.

In his own words … On being the next Travis Hunter, and playing both ways in college: “That’s the goal, is to play both sides in college because I’ve been doing it my whole life. I want to be the next me. But I want to make a name for myself like he did. I want to be the second person to have (recently) played both sides of the ball and do great just like he did”.

At On3Sports/Rivals, Ward is considered to be the No. 105 wide receiver in the nation, the No. 81 prospect out of the state of Florida, and the No. 681 player in the country.

  1. Great! So how about doing the same thing but with offensive and defensive linemen? Heck, they got the top tackle in the nation with Seaton and then stopped. Why?

  2. Wait, what?! Deion is still recruiting good players? How is that possible?!

    Yeah. I know. 2027 is a llloooong way away. But the fact that talented kids are looking at CU, especially two years out, remains massive progress.
