Names and Numbers after Week Seven in the NFL
—
— Travis Hunter, WR/DB, Jacksonville … Despite his team’s 35–7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium in London, Hunter had one of his the best performances of his rookie season. Hunter finished with eight receptions for 101 yards and hauled in his first-ever NFL touchdown, a 34-yard grab from quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the fourth quarter.
Hunter played on both sides of the ball, continuing to split time at WR and CB and although his defensive snap count was only 14, he still showed how capable he is at corner recording an impressive pass breakup against future HOF WR Davante Adams, who was all but unstoppable against Jacksonville’s defense on Sunday. This play put Travis in historic lore making him one of only five players to record 100 receiving yards and a pass break up in the same game. It is important to note that in every other instance, the “defensive play” was on a batted down Hail Mary.
