Buffs in the NFL

Names and Numbers after Week Three in the NFL

Travis Hunter, WR/DB, Jacksonville … In Jacksonville’s 17-10 win over Houston, Hunter had one catch for 21 yards, to go with six tackles. Without meaning to, Hunter became part of a controversy this week. Coach Prime spoke on Jacksonville’s use of Hunter on the New Heights Podcast with the Kelce brothers stating the Jaguars “aren’t using him enough” … which of course brought about a “mind your own business” backlash from pundits.

  • For the season … 10 receptions for 76 yards … nine tackles (six solo) … one pass defended …

Nate Landman, LB, Los Angeles Rams … In a tough loss between undefeated teams, the Rams lost in the final minute to Philadelphia. Nate recorded three total tackles and yet another fumble recovery. What is even more impressive is he earned an 88.4 coverage grade on PFF.

  • For the season … 21 tackles, with 11 solo (second on team) … one forced fumble … two fumble recoveries …

Chidobe Awuzie, DB,  Baltimore Ravens … Ravens cornerback Chidobe Awuzie had three tackles in Baltimore’s 38-30 to Detroit.

LaJohntay Wester, WR/PR, Baltimore Ravens

  • For the season … Has not caught a pass yet, but does have five punt returns for 60 yards …

Ahkello Witherspoon, DB, Los Angeles Rams … Witherspoon sustained a broken clavicle two weeks ago against the Titans. He has been placed on IR and there is no timetable for his return.

  • For the season … Three tackles (all three solo) … One pass defended …

Isaiah Oliver, DB, New York Jets … Oliver has been seeing limited action, with one tackle last weekend in a 29-27 loss to Tampa Bay.

  • For the season … Five tackles (two solo) …

Shedeur Sanders, QB, Cleveland Browns … Cleveland won its first game of the season, beating Green Bay, 13-10. Brown quarterback Joe Flacco went 21-for-36 for only 142 yards, but is firmly entrenched as the starting quarterback. In addition to his comments on the New Heights podcast about Travis, Coach Prime also made the following comment about his son: “I’ve never sat on the bench and thought, ‘Wow, I learned a lot today”. As you might have guessed, this sparked more controversy.

Never a dull moment with Coach Prime …
