Davon Dericho – DB
Committed February 12, 2026 … Dericho is a 5’9″, 165-pound defensive back from Miami, Florida … 247 Sports bio … On3Sports/Rivals bio …
What others say about Dericho … Dericho is rated as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports, but, as of the date of his commitment, was not rated by On3Sports/Rivals. At 247 Sports, Dericho is listed as the No. 55 cornerback in the nation, the 62 player overall out of the state of Florida, and the No. 593 prospect overall in the nation.
From Adrew Ivins 247 Sports … Feisty defensive back that blends slick man-coverage skills with impressive contact courage. On the smaller side, but tested very well at The Opening Miami in advance of senior year and flashed during an extended 1-on-1 session. Got looks around the secondary as a junior and should offer similar versatility in college, but ceiling might be highest in the nickel. Projects as a potential multi-year starter at the Power Four level.
Dericho had other offers from … over a dozen FBS schools, including Power Four schools like Florida State, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Pitt, and UCF.
In his own words … “It’s Deion Sanders. He’s the best to do it,” Dericho told 247 Sports. “Out of all of my offers, he was the person who pushed me the most. He texts me every day. He calls me every day. He cares about me. I’m with that. He checks up on me. I really, really mess with that.”

At 247 Sports, McDonald is listed as the No. 29 cornerback in the nation, the 10 player overall out of the state of Mississippi, and the No. 317 prospect overall in the nation. At On3Sports/Rivals, McDonald is considered to be the No. 33 cornerback in the nation, the No. 10 prospect out of the state of Mississippi, and the No. 236 player in the country.

Great! So how about doing the same thing but with offensive and defensive linemen? Heck, they got the top tackle in the nation with Seaton and then stopped. Why?
Wait, what?! Deion is still recruiting good players? How is that possible?!
Yeah. I know. 2027 is a llloooong way away. But the fact that talented kids are looking at CU, especially two years out, remains massive progress.
