Buffs in the NFL

Names and Numbers after Week Five in the NFL

Travis Hunter, WR/DB, Jacksonville … In a close contest against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, Travis Hunter started on both offense (39 snaps) and defense (25 snaps) making him the first player in the modern NFL era to start and play significant snaps since Deion Sanders in 1996.

Travis flashed under the bright Monday night lights showing familiar glimpses of offensive brilliance. His performance helped Jacksonville secure a win but also raised more questions about Hunter’s usage for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Travis ended the game with 3 receptions for 64 yards, his longest came on a 44-yard pass where he quite literally jumped over two defenders and came down with one of the most impressive catches of his young career. On defense, Hunter had two tackles and a pass broken up …

The versatile linebacker finished the game with 14 total tackles (8 solo) and three passes successfully defended in coverage.

  • For the season … 41 tackles, with 22 solo (second on team) … one forced fumble … two fumble recoveries …

Shedeur Sanders, QB, Cleveland Browns … With the Browns struggling, starting quarterback Joe Flacco has been traded to Cincinnati (and reportedly will start this weekend against Green Bay). There has been plenty of internet chatter as to whether Shedeur is now the No. 2 quarterback behind Dillon Gabriel, with the Cleveland coach not being willing to commit to that position earlier this week.

BJ Green, DE, Jacksonville Jaguars … Was has been activated the past two weeks, but has yet to see any action.
