  — October 28th – Boulder           Colorado 37, Oklahoma State 21 — Quarterback Craig Ochs became the first player in Colorado history to run for a touchdown, throw for a touchdown and catch a pass for a touchdown in the same game as the Buffs posted their first easy win of the year, a 37-21 decision over Oklahoma State. — October 21st – at Kansas           Kansas 23, Colorado 15 — Any delusions Buff fans had that 1-5 Colorado was not a bad football team, but really a good football team which had beaten down by an overpowering early-season schedule, came to a crashing end as 3-3 Kansas handed the Buffs a 23-15 setback. — October 14th – Boulder          No. 25 Texas 28, Colorado 14 — For almost 55 minutes of their game against Colorado, the Texas Longhorns allowed the struggling Buffs to stay in the game. Then, with 5:36 to play, Texas running back Hodges Mitchell, whose two fumbles had allowed the Buffs to keep in close, took a short pass and turned it into a 42-yard touchdown which sealed the 28-14 win for Texas.
