Scapled in San Diego Still without my wallet (See: “Disneyland – Here I come!”), and having been disappointed by my first two days in California, Brad and I set out again. This day=s objective – San Diego. — December 28th – Freedom Bowl, Anaheim, California           BYU 20, Colorado 17 — The only lead BYU would enjoy the entire game would be when it counted most, as BYU defeated Colorado, 20-17, in the 1988 Freedom Bowl. BYU kicker Jason Chaffetz connected from 35 yards out with 2:33 remaining to give BYU its first lead and the victory. Disneyland – Here I come!

— Disneyland, here I come — I had missed Colorado=s first trip to the Freedom Bowl in Anaheim in 1985, but I did not want to miss this one. Plans were made to make the pilgrimage to California, which, of course, included meeting up with Brad. We flew to Los Angeles a few days before the Freedome Bowl, which was to be played the evening of December 29th.
