Ochs suffered a concussion late in the second quarter and did not return.   National and Big 12 Recap Ohio State won its fifth national title at the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, defeating Miami, 31-24, in two overtimes. The 2nd-ranked Buckeyes, 13-point underdogs to the Hurricanes, were led by freshman running back Maurice Clarett. Clarett scored on a five-yard run in Ohio State’s second overtime possession, and when Miami quarterback Ken Dorsey’s fourth-down pass fell incomplete, the 14-0 Buckeyes were the nation’s only undefeated team. — October 14th – Boulder          No. 25 Texas 28, Colorado 14 — For almost 55 minutes of their game against Colorado, the Texas Longhorns allowed the struggling Buffs to stay in the game. Then, with 5:36 to play, Texas running back Hodges Mitchell, whose two fumbles had allowed the Buffs to keep in close, took a short pass and turned it into a 42-yard touchdown which sealed the 28-14 win for Texas. Colorado’s all-everything cornerback/kick returner opened the Missouri game with a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. In overtime, after a game which was a roller coaster of emotion, Kelly intercepted a pass by Missouri quarterback Kirk Farmer to preserve a 46-39 overtime win for the Buffs.
